The "72 FJ55 for sale in Berkeley" Pig?

https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj55-classifieds-corner/394028-1972-fj55-sale-berkeley-ca.html

I went to see it today, little more rust than I expected...and the engine is froze.

Interior is not bad...comes with a headliner, bows are in the back.

Kinda mostly complete...
We're talking about 2 grand as it sits.

Hell yea.

If nothing else the interior looks great. But then there's the rust.... Might have to break into your tailgate statsh for a replacement.

Definitely gets a new tailgate, maybe front passenger door too.
Maybe could break that engine free, maybe I need a 2F & a 4-speed for it.
Some IPOR rockers and I'd be set.

super nice seats...

I was thinking the same thing as Carm -- the seats look like they're in great shape... Plus the dash and floor look ok... And the door panels... Of course I only have mine to compare to, which as of now doesn't have any door panels installed :)

You guys might be forgetting the box of still bagged OEM window rubber? Windshield, rear window, cargo windows & doors...the rubber is worth more than the Pig.

That totally makes it worth it. If nothing else you could sell the rubber and get a pig for free... not a bad deal!

$1000 with the rubber gasket kit, and that's if the frame is good.

It will be a boat load of work and money to get it ready to roll.

I'm still going to vote yes.

I have a spare SM465 you could use-not the one I showed you but another one. That truck needs a new motor, I would forget about that frozen one.

The frame and body mounts are very good.
Not a boat-load, maybe just a canoe-full...
Yuck, not another SM465!
Think I'll start looking for a running 2F/Toy 4-speed nearby.
Ordered the IPOR rockers this morning.

Disregard. Seller just pulled it off the market...
Darn.

I forgot about that - those pieces are not cheap! It does seem like quite a bit more rust than originally presented.

What up with that?

Dunno. He e-mailed me, says sorry, he's gonna build it. Maybe I took too long, or talked him down too much. Maybe he got a better offer.

Hey Greg. I may have a few parts you might want. that pig I bought has very clean doors, glass, and a good tailgate and glass. also a headliner, rear glass is good. since I will be chopping the top, bobbing and dovetailing I will not need any of these things.
