I emailed that guy quite a bit years ago after he wrecked it. He was very strange to say the least. He had a web site for his Alaska travel stuff and the LV was on it. I even saw pics of the truck after the wreck with snow packed into it. I had a feeling he was going to screw some people who bought parts. He pretty much was selling all the decent parts off of it, and asking crazy money for the stuff.

I bought the hood vent from him. he chagered me 200 granted it was in very good condition but it was expensive. but i had been serching for 2 years for a good one.. odd sort for sure

Interesting to know the history of these things.;-) I just remember seeing the gray one driving around when I was was a kid, and thinking it was the coolest looking thing ever. Unfortunately, it's pretty well toast now. Not a straight body panel on it except for the floor. I really wish the frame wasn't tweaked because it's rust free.
The green one isn't quite as good as I thought either, so I may help out other FJ-45lv projects and part both of them out. :-(
I'm thinking that I'll keep the Green 45's frame and build a FJ-45 truck with parts from the three parts rigs I now have.
What do you think? Nothing is written in stone, but both rigs suffer from major dents and the green one has quite a bit of rust.

Now is not the time to chicken out ;)

Take a good look, and figure where you will be starting from, and build one out of the two. Then sell what you will not need, so that you can buy what you will need...and unless you run into title issues, which will never allow you to drive one on the road, I say take the time to make one roadworthy again :bounce::steer::wrench::bang::clap:

You mean those aren't stock?;)
I'll take a few more pics for you guys tonight. Let me know what y'all would do. Granted I have little to no bodywork experience, but I guess I'll be on the fasttrack when I dive into these buggers.
I'll look into how many duplicates of things I have and will post them up inthe classified section. I've never parted anything out and shippped it out of state, so, learning experiences all around.

Try to make one out of the two if you can.Personally I don't think it has to be a perfect restoration when it's done - they're just such cool trucks to have on the road. What better way to learn all you need to know about welding etc. than by doing a rebuild like that.

If you do have some parts for sale I need a cover for one of the 'room' lights and the parts for keeping the back seat from falling backwards.Just thought I'd throw it out there.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Here's the last few I have. They are a mix of both cruisers and the 40. The gray one has the nice floor.
Also, has anybody seen a hub like the one in the first pic? I'm curious if it's stock or aftermarket. I've never seen one like it.

Last couple.
forgot to mention that I have another set near-perfect set of doors as well,so the tweaked doors on the gray one will be up for sale.
Also, the green 45 does not have the VIN plate on the firewall, is there somewhere else I can find a VIN# to confirm its birthdate?

Thanks

I think that is a Huskey hub.I have some that came with my 67 LWB.The VIN # is on the front passenger side part of the frame, between the bumper and the front bib.

Can't wait to see you tackle those corners  At least the ribs are in good shape & the PO didn't hack out the wheelwells to fit bigger meats. I'm totally envious you found not 1 but 2 LV's :D Is this gonna be a *fairly stocker rebuild or a resto-mod? I think you can save both :bounce2:
