Oh got you, yeah microscope is the same thing. One thing I found at least as far as emerald cuts were concerned is the girdle. The girdle is the place where the facets on the top meet the facets on the bottom/sides. You can go up to a slightly thick or moderately thick girdle without any difference in the look or reflectivity but it drops the price some.

That's also the area they usually laser etch the serial number, since it doesn't refract much.
