Serpentine Idler and Tensioner Life??

I'm at 80k on everything. Tensioner and idler and belt were replaced at 93k and I'm at 173k on the truck.

I poured a little water on the belt this morning after startup during the squeak (didn't have spray bottle).

The squeal went away for about 5 seconds then changed in pitch and loudness. I'm guessing it's the belt. I'll start there and keep the old belt as a spare for my drive to Alaska.

for benchmark lifespan data,

I just lost both idler puller and tensioner at 276k. Both original I expect.

I drove on the squeak for about 2 weeks. 6 min commute to work. It gradually got louder. I knew after a recent longer drive that it was close to throwing the belt, and then sure enough the next time I started the engine, it did.

So if you're feeling lazy (like I was) and the squeak is significant, in my experience you've got about 50 miles or so until complete component failure.

230k on mine. Slight wobble. Was having alternator issues as well so just swapped it out. Got a Dayco kit with tensioner, belt, and pulley from Rockauto.com
DAYCO KIT533BCK
DAYCO 89255
DAYCO 5060885
DAYCO 89154

My tensioner went out at 197K, the pulley bearing was still okay but the tensioner itself got too loose, didn’t put enough tension on the belt and it was squealing. Changing the tensioner is actually a lot of work. Need to remove the alternator and power steering to be able to get it out.

Yep-pita job on its own if not combined with another job.
My tensioner return spring is worn and it needed replacing for the past 5k miles. Ive been enduring an intermittent start up screech for about 6 -7 months because I planned to do the tensioner during my TB service. Hopefully can make time to get to that this month.

I replaced my serp belt, idler, tension assembly/pulley today at about 189,000 miles.
The old idler spun freely with the belt off.

i think i need to do this too. Im getting chirping on cold start. I have 196k.

Yeah might as well knock this out of the way, tensioner, idler, and new belt. I bought mine from @Ranma12

Per LexusPartsNow.com yes, I don't buy from them, I just use the website for their vehicle compatibility confirmation.
