Subscribbed, I broke the 90 amp alt. trying to fit it in, think it will still work but perhaps this will work better.
Sequoia Alt in 3FE?

A couple of photos to explain. The smaller serpentine pulley is the type on the Tundra/Sequoia alternator. The 1FZ alternator pulley is the same size in diameter and width, but designed for two narrow belts. Pulley bases differ also with the 3FE have a flat base and the smaller pulley having a raised base. This is the main reason a 3FE pulley cannot be simply swapped over to the 130/150 amp alternator. And if using the 1FZ double-belt pulley you'd not be able to run the smog pump belt on the pulley.
Is that the 3FE pulley there on the left because it looks like a flush pulley base and not a raised one like the pulley on the right.
But, using the 1FZ pulley for those of us that have no smog pump anymore, we just need to figure out how to mount it?

For the record, I went to the dealer to find a 130/150a alt (different dealer) and they didnt have one either. He was able to find one (Sequoia, not tundra) in Texas. They are in Harlingen and Duncanville. Who ever is near there should do by to see how different they are to place in the stock alt location. Otherwise I know the Tundra one can fit with rigging in the smog pump location. Just too lazy at this moment to rewire everything up that high unless I have to.

Maybe. Or not. What's pictured looks like a Delco CS 144 amp used in domestic vehicles. Good thing is that the 3FE pulley would be a direct swap onto the alternator and wiring would be easy. Downside is the size of the alternator and the space in which you have to work. I first tried to install one of these on a 2F in place of the smog pump (https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/112706-cs-144-install-2f.html) and initially I thought it would work but later decided to go a different route. The alternator I used had the mounting ears, not at 180 degrees, but about 135 and this may have been an underlying issue with the mounting.
I had a chance to look at a 3FE on an engine stand yesterday. That OEM alternator is a pretty tight fit between the engine mount and the smog pump. Loosing the smog pump may not be an option for some. It's not one for me as I have a York in place of it.
The original point of this thread was to come up with a "kit" for the 3FE. I have no doubt that he will let me use that 3FE as a test platform and he can fabricate anything needed. I just need the time...

If you can get a "kit" made that would be a much easier alternative and I will be the first to buy one.
Ordered one from a salvage yard but what they sent me was not a seq alt. So I sent it back and kinda forgot about doing this right now. After my dual battery install I may be back in the marked for it though.
It's not busted equipment it comes off of a vehicle that ended up at the salvage yard. Either through an accident or blown motor or other reasons.
