every year I wish my AC worked…yes, done it all and all components replaced but it just never can deliver at temps above 80 and up…my wifes 2006 Rav4 puts my 94 ac to shame…and it never has had or needed any repairs or tunings or charges etc…can her vehicle’s ac be adapted to an 80 series? or for that matter, any other vehicle with a great ac as a donor?
seeking a better AC…and ideas

I'd say something is amiss in your system. The AC in my 94' is nice and cold after I repaired it in 2017. It's often too cold to leave the lever all the way over to "cold" so I have to set it somewhere in the middle.

There is definitely something off with your AC. Mine freezes my hands on the wheel after I replaced my 30 year old components. What’s the condition of your engine cooling components? Radiator, thermostat, water pump, fan clutch etc.

When you say replaced all means all the working components minus the lines and hoses? Did you charge it with a machine or by guesstimate?
Too much oil in the system could clogged the Evaporator and condenser causing slow to flow refrigerant.
I would hook up gauges and see what readings you have.

the cooling system works perfect…never had an over heat problem…have owned for 5 years
@dogstar have you inspected the Evaporator core? They tend to get very badly plugged with hair and stuff. I know of a number of folks that had giant hair/mildew mats on their evap cores and dealt with it numerous times as a mechanic, including on my own cruiser. You would have never known the PO had a dog with how clean the interior was, but the evap core looked like it swallowed a polar bear cub.
Also, though I would never recommend someone else repeat it, I had charged my AC with dustoff....which, though it is meant for cleaning keyboards and electronics is a refrigerant...Also flammable. However, on a 95* day the cruiser would put out air in the low 60's pretty easily. In fact, it got so cold a number of times that it froze the expansion valve.

You need a new mechanic.
My 93 gives me frostbite on my ears even in 40⁰c ambient temps
Just because it hasn't overheated, doesn't mean everything is optimal
I'm with everyone else, there's something wrong with your system. Have you asked your mechanic about it? Assuming he is a good mechanic, he doesn't know your problem isn't solved unless you tell him.
I would check the heater valve and make sure its totally shut and adjust it as necessary. My AC vent outlet temperatures drop by 10F because my heater valve was not closing all the way.

clogged evap core and check heater valve…will try those suggestions…much appreciate all tips and tricks…all the typical functional stuff has always been done so looking for the lesser known stuff
Check your engine fan viscous clutch is engaging properly too.
You should hear it roaring on start up, and when it's hot, or stupid in traffic etc you'll hear it cycle on/off, roaring/quiet.
You are all missing OEM AC fan for Hot climate and JDM

Israeli Negev and Judea desert are hot, so hot it can kill you
I installed on top of the left Toyota fan that starts immediately after you switch the AC ( all the connectors and wires needed are OEM there)
on top of that I installed manually controlled SPAL fan
Maybe have him look into it again if you're not happy with the outcome, a good system should put out in the low 40's at 80* ambient.
He's in Chicago not needed there
With everything working right it should have zero problems.
You have issues. This is what my 94 puts out in Florida in May.
