Recommend the cruiser corp covers - installed them earlier this year.

I would definitely take one (the most worn out, probably driver side) to a shop for an estimate. It may be worth it to you to have a pro do the work, and you will have an almost infinite selection of fabrics, welts and colors.

have a feeling the op is looking for a seat cover, not to recover the seats.

You are correct. But I do appreciate these other responses as well. I had my seats professionally reupholstered when I restored my truck back in 2002 and they did an amazing job. Just 20 years of wear and tear later, do you know the story. Might not be a bad idea to just go to reupholstering route it might just be the bottom part anyways so maybe it won’t be too expensive. Still wondering if anyone has a good fit for a cover though. Thanks all.

Apologies, misread the question. Re: covers, no experience with 40 series cover, but had these in an 80 series and they were fantastic. I see they also have them for the 40 series. Not cheap but great quality

I have fitted seat covers in my FJ62. Probably a close match on 1/79+ buckets I a 40 series. Not much of a selection for 60 series and not the thickest covers. Probably bought them fifteen years ago. Not sure more are available now or if the ones I bought before are still available. My seats are still in great shape just want to protect them. I have seat covers I had on my 100 series seats. While not a great fit there are much better quality cover. Probably three times as thick. When I traded in a fifth generation 4Runner. Before I did I removed the cloth seats had over the leather seats. Might try those on some 73-78 buckets seats. I know the headrests with be wrong, way to tall for a 40 series. Possibly the cover for the middle headrest in the back seat.
