Has anyone installed a Group 65 Platinum?
930 CCA & Sears' website says it fits.....
10 pounds heavier than a Group 35 & same cost.

I believe my aux batt is a group 65 Platinum. This is the aux position, passenger side of the engine bay.

What's preferred for the 2nd battery in dual-battery systems does depend on the management system you're using. It's important to follow the instructions. I assume folks take this into account but it's probably worth mentioning.

9/11/11 sears friends and family day

Just FYI 9/11/11 is friends and family day for anyone looking for a die hard platinum. Also being in remembrance of this day ten years ago. GOD bless AMERICA. Loud and proud.

9/11 - NEVER forget, NEVER forgive.

So when is the friends and family day in October? I need to buy a new battery for my 80.

Same question here, as my dual battery system is almost done, and will be moving the Toyota 84 Month into the accessory battery position for now, and replacing with a Platinum Group 34 on the main. Have already upgraded my cables (thanks Fourrunner) to 1/0 and longer so that they will work with the reverse posts.

The link to Sears above goes nowhere, so not certain if the event was last weekend or not...any insiders at Sears on Mud?

Yeah, they already took the October page down. The November one should be up there eventually.

Mudders, what do you think...wait until the next sale to pay $220 out the door for a Sears Platinum Group34 or get an Odyssey Group R34 with the posts on the correct side for $247 delivered to my door from Amazon?

Pretty even in my view, considering gas and my time...The only advantage to Sears is the warrantee can be handled in any Sears Auto Center.

Proper reversed posts would be nice. How do they handle the warranty if purchased through Amazon?

Not 100% sure but looks like it would have to go back to Amazon. Another difference with Sears is that they also offer a 100 month pro-rated warranty with their Platinums...Odyssey only has the original 48 month replacement coverage, and nothing beyond. Hmm, always best to read the fine print. Leaning towards the Platinum once again, as my cables are long enough to deal with the standard post layout.

I just had to replace my Diehard Gold battery in mine. Went with a Platinum and came away at $206 after the warranty replacement directly at Sears. This was with cable extensions. So, if you are going for a group buy, I would try Sears instead, as you will get the same pricing regardless of location.
