That doesn't look like Sand Stone Canyon?
Uh . . . Oh yeah.

This is the only shot I took near Sandstone Canyon. It's right at the trail head.

The first two in the last group were in Fish Creek Wash. The rest were in Coyote Canyon.

Met a great bunch of guys on this run.

Well, I'm not great at writing reports, just ask my high school english teacher Mrs. Gardner, so i'll talk with images instead.

Opening to Sandstone Canyon.

Stan says "This bolt come from a what?" (Hint, it's not made by Toyota.)

I brought the wrong lens for tight in, grand scale scenery. I'm so embarassed. They were left at home. So I did my best to capture the scene.

This is by no means all there is. I'l put them up on the website sometime down the road. I've got a busy two weeks ahead of me, so it might not be till after that. See you all on the trail to happiness or, at the very least, someplace with a lot of rocks to drive over.

Awesome pictures Braden!

Looks like you had some good food at camp. Hopefully I'll be allowed to join you guys next time.

Ok, here are a few of our pics, the rest i'll save for my write up on our site.

On the way down from Julian we found some local yahoo that went around a corner way too fast on the 78. I couldn't pass without helping him upright his trailer.

Heading through Sandstone..
cimg1333tl0.jpg

Hey that's the "S" turn between two bolders that I caught one or both of my front bumper corners!

So was there any body scrapes or damage? Or are all of you guys too well armored?

yeah it got really damn tight up towards the back of the canyon. And climbing through rocky sections while leaning into the wall made us roof rack drivers pay close attention.

We were all too well armored i'd say. We used our sliders quite a bit. Brent got a minor scuff on his ARB bullbar, Eric in his FJ cruiser nailed his right rear wheel pretty bad.. and i had a silly incident with one of my fender bars. No major damage. Stan had 2 Lower control arms come loose (bolts had seem to shear off) and my passenger front hub seemed to work loose.

We have now named this run the "loose nut trail run"

Other than that.. we were golden.

so, when you go through Sandstone, and it gets narrower after you go over this little ledge, and you get to the point where the wheels on both sides of an 80 start riding up the walls, how much farther can you go than that?
