It's been a damn-tough road last coupla days. Was up in Salem, Mass when I got the news and caught the first bird home.

She died peacefully in 'er sleep ... in a place that had made 'er the happiest. Reckon we should all be so lucky. Her health has been poor for decades and she finally found peace. I talked to 'er many times over the weekend and 'er spirit never died ... but 'er frail lil' body could fight no more. She touched the lifes of all that knew 'er and leaves fond memories with a countless number.

To all those that send their wishes ... I thank you and draw strength from them one and all. The help I've gotten from Butch and Deb and Fro and Murmy has been priceless ... it's eased the burden of the situation. Momma was the only family I had but Elwood and The White Trash has done provided me with a new "family" to continue on.

She loved wheelin' and changed many a diaper of mine and my late brother's on the tailgate of a 4WD pickup on trails 'cross the West. Her health kept 'er from goin' out with us anymore but one of 'er biggest joys was listenin' to the stories when we got back from a run. She financed this club to get it goin', followed this forum reg'larly and she was the biggest reason I put on the Family Reunion ... to bring ya'll to her since she couldn't go to ya'll. And she had a large time. She'll be laid to rest in 'er hikin' boots, favorite jeans and T-shirt ... her White Trash shirt.

As Butch mentioned ... funeral arrangements have been made for Saturday here in Elwood. It'll be a very simple ceremony ... please no flowers or fancy clothes ... Momma never did wanna be fussed over.

Thanks again to all.

Words like these are proof to us all that she raised a good son.... As parents, we should all be so lucky....

Susan and I are honored to have met her and will always remember her in a quiet, warm place in our hearts....

Wish we could be there for ya Kowboy....
