This is Swampfox58's wife. He can't respond right now, he's breathing through a paperbag.

No mega like or mutable like button so you just get the one single like.

Please know Mrs. Swampfox58 that Swampy is going to need lots of back rubs and money in the very near future and he would do the same for you if the tables were turn. We are here for you if you need us!!!

Roof gutter rot is not exclusive to 55s. 60's have the same dang problem. Condensation under the roof panel rots them from the inside out.

As @onemanarmy says, dive in, be patient, and you will have a solid rig for another 40 years.

I've been dealing with rocker panel and roof and A pillar rust for years now. Just have to dive in.

Windshield out, all trim out, and get to cutting/grinding/patching/welding/rustproofing/painting.

Not for the weak willed, thats for sure.
dont I know it! havent tackled A pillars and roof yet but its on the list

I feel your pain!! This is what I did.. Drilled out every spot weld and found another roof for a donor. Underneath needs a little work still but doable

So the saga continues. Lacking the intestinal fortitude and general competance of most of you on this forum, I took a different approach. Ground out the A pillar, treated the area with Rustoleum rust converter, injected JB Weld Steel Reinforced Epoxy into the affected area, let cure then sanded and laid JB Weld SteelStik on top. I'll let that cure then sand it down to prime and paint.
Please, no desenters, only "atta boys" and congratulations will be recognized at this time

If you have the headliner out, please buy some rust converter and spray the crap down the A pillar from the inside. There's some holes tucked up there. Anything to try and stop the rust attack, oh I forgot "atta a boy!" :)
