Well it’s hunting season so almost every flat spot between Mammoth and the Rug Road turnoff has campers.
I found three small sites that would fit 5 or 6 trucks.

None are particularly flat and no guarantee they will be open this afternoon.
@Saddletramp Pick one and I’ll come back up after lunch an see if it is still open.

Camp Small 1 Several small disbursed sites and one larger with fire ring

What an awesome weekend!!! Thanks Jason, for setting this up! I've wanted to travel the Rug Rd for years, and it finally happened. The drive out on Sunday was beautiful. I did pick up a little rocker damage from a loose boulder on Carpet Hill. Ahhh well. Great company, great attitudes, and it was fantastic to be back on the trail with CSC.

Great trip! Thanks to Jason for setting it up, and hosting. Thanks to everyone else for the fun and camaraderie.

Terrific place to camp on Saturday night. We got a little rain, but just enough to be interesting, but still enjoyable!

Look forward to getting out more often.

A couple pictures....

IT was a great weekend for all involved. Great group of guys, great weather, and great camp fire chats. Thanks to everyone who joined in.

Great weekend. The rain added a different perspective to the trail, everybody was (mostly) warm and dry, and great company.

I had a blast camping. This is my top camping area in AZ.

Where did you end up?
Thanks for the tip on Three Links Road - it was a much better route than driving down to Benson first.

I camped on State Trust land at
