The 100s rocked it! Both wore on 35 and I think they actually had a little bit of an advantage due to lighter weight and may be a little narrower. That Land Cruiser golden ratio of a 112 inch wheelbase really shined on the trail. I think it would be a tough haul with less than 35” inch tires on any Land Cruiser.
I agree, 35's are proly a minimum unless it's a rental 🤪

I was very happy with my rigs performance this year, it's a tough trail and 100's are big Beast, but she never let me down! We added 4.88's and 25% TCase reduction gears for this years run, awesome mod, can't wait to go back next year to give GoldieHahn another notch in her belt!
Nice! Seem like y’all building your rigs to take on Rubicon.

My 100 has def been getting built for Rubicon or trails like it, every year we try to fine tune it a bit for the next year... Gears were def a huge benefit and gave us way more control on the rocks..

Awesome to hear y’all feedback and experiences on the Rubicon with many different rigs. Sounds like 35s is a good number to start.

Little Z at camp drinking hot coco before heading out on the trail for day 2 of the Rubicon...

Wow, great photos and well done on a successful trail run. It's a bummer about the fire but glad y'all made the most of it! It's been cool to see @Atwalz optimize his build to take this on - combined with his skills as a driver/spotter - with pretty much no drama. It's nice when a good plan comes together.

The trail isn't just obstacle after obstacle, at times like this is just flattens right out and you cruise along 🤪

Love the “no drama” thing! I know what you mean, but for me, every photo is high drama and an —OMG, is that even possible— moment.

I still love the looks of the 100 series. It's the only series I haven't owned and likely never will because it simply doesn't make sense but that kind of saddens me lol.

"sense"? Not sure any of this really makes sense. Its all awesome and fun but it doesn't make much sense. I doubt anyone here would bat an eye at someone buying a 100 series. Now that Jeep Rubicon, that really doesn't make any sense... 😜

That Jeep is the one vehicle made for the trail without a ton of mods added to it lol. :) *But it has been sold to make room for the LX600!*

Well sure, if you just want to go buy a truck, I'll concede that... Maybe I could put "SHOPPING MALL" or "SOCCER FIELD" on my 200's front fenders to at least get the look of a real 4x4.

All in fun. I have a good friend who drives a Ruby and we have this same back and forth every time we get together. Its really the people, not the OEM of the rig that draws me into this hobby, life style, or whatever it is. I love this particular thread and have a fantasy of building my 200 (and my skills) up to the point where I could try tackling the Rubicon. You guys are inspiring!

Wow, and just like that it is so!? Was that the plan all along or did this thread literally just influence this decision?
