If your talking about the spring and hardware for the parking brake i found them in a set from oreilly 17394 25. bucks or order them from Beno or dealer

Much of mine ended up as metal filings stuck to my abs sensor.

Has to be, no. I R&R'd the right rear hub due to a leaking seal. Locker was inop at the time. I had not problem getting the shaft reinstalled.

You were lucky. Try performing the procedure 10 times and see what happens.
