Funny you should say that. With all the people that say they are so great...funny that I have never had great luck with them on any of my wheelers in the past. Which is why I didn't go with them on the lexi and now the FJ.

I have had great luck with those tires on the FJ40 - lost two on my Tacoma within the first 1000 miles - and then two on the 80 series -

yeah I need to find a new brand

After seeing your rig in action for 7 days it is nice to read about your build-up. Nice job. I was at the local Toyota dealer here yesterday and there was a black 80 sitting in the repair lot all dirty and custom front/rear bumpers, big roof rack and a roof top tent....and swiss plates. It had the 24V diesel with a manuel 5 speed He's on his way to Deadhorse right now and should be back by Saturday, will try to get him out on a trail around here before he heads back south. He is at the begging of a 2 year treck around the world, solo for most of it. Look him up at www.panmundo.com. He plans to spend about 3 months in the San Diego area, so he might end up in your neighborhood sometime this winter. Have you checked your bumper lights for any water damage? Mine where toast, so had to get replacement lense assemblies for both. Had a front passenger knuckle seal give out, so leakage outside and into the diff. The rear diff also somehow got a little water contamination even though it's got a extended breather. Got the spare tire mount welded back up again. I was so not ready to call it quits on the last day.

I have not had a chance yet to open the axles up and see how things look - it is on the list before winter - everything seemed to be tight on the 80 - and the bog mud finally vibrated all off heading up the Dempster

I am in the Tacoma now and realizing how great this truck is as well

I was talking to a local carpenter and he did not think any locally available drawer hinges could stand the sort of weight needed. Where you purchased your drawer hinges?

I see now what you mean - that is an MSR cook pot top and a jet boil cover behind the other stuff - no subs in there

I have the drawers full and can handle the weight no problem -
the full extension slides are rated at 250lbs I used the 36" slides - when you try and go up to the full 48" found on other sites the price jumps up out of site

I guess a few more questions are needed. Where did you get the handle/pull for the drawer and what sort of mechanism is used to keep the drawer from moving when you accelerate and decelerate? Is the drawer able to be locked?

The handles used are speaker handles US Speaker

The drawer is a near exact fit so when the tailgate is closed - it fits snug against the drawer - the drawer closes with a snug fit due to the covering and I have not had any issues with things opening up unexpectedly
