Dylan--Where did you source the springs???

Great looking truck, im impressed youve kept it so straight. The trails must be a lot wider out west....

Thanks for sharing.

Dylan--Where did you source the springs???

I bought them off of a guy on the wanted board over on Pirate4x4.com. You could probably find them in the pick and pull over on Sunrise, I just didn't have the time to rummage through the yard. I wouldn't pay over 80-100 dollars for them . . .

Great rig, great story, great pics!

Great looking rig Dylan, looking forward to the next trip we can run together.

Dylan,
As many others have stated: Great post and great rig! The pic of you at 10 is great...not to mention the 40:). Question: Not knowing anything about 60's...but could you move the lower shock mounts to the rear of the axle housing and farther outboard...and then moved the upper mounts outboard so the shocks aren't layed over as much...and then the shocks would be closer to the springs?

Can't wait for more wheel'n whichya (and your Dad too!). Here's to more photo ops ;)

Dan

Ya dude it did get pretty crazy out there on the sand. Nice sunset pics by the way! I have to give credit to my dad for scoping out the 8274 at a yard sale though. . .

I forgot to mention 2 key mods in my above rambling,
The first is an Aussie locker in the rear that I love and trully wish I would have done long ago. The second is the combinatin of IPF reaplacement headlamps and an ARB heavy duty wiring harness with Hella 55/100 bulbs. Talk about bright, I love these things. The low beams are legal limit but the highs light up the day. If you live in a rural area that lacks city lights and has an overpopulation of deer, I highly recommend these to anyone.

Dylan

If you happen to remember, where did you get your IPF headlamps and ARB wiring harness? Is 55 watt the legal limit or is it 80 watt? Thanks man, I'm doing this right away. Also need to order my Aussie Locker...

Edit: I guess the headlights can't have a higher wattage than stock / factory so that would be 55 watts, I assume.

Wow. Clean truck. Mods look nice and clean. Great job on it.

I'm honored that you mentioned me. I remember building mine out and looking at other 60s for inspiration and instruction... Lotsa great builds out there. Nice to see the next generation carrying on the tradition. :D:D:cool:

Makes me miss my 60 so much. Even the same blue as mine... :frown:

Thanks dude, that rig was awesome! I first saw your website and decided that a smurf blue SOA was THE COOLEST thing in the world. From then on, the fate of my cruisers was the darkside!

Here are a few more shots of the springs to help with what I described above.

Here is a shot of the current configuration of the shocks. The one downfall of having a 4 leaf 63" spring is the softness, so I plan on utilizing more of the dampening power of the shock by mounting them as vertical as possible.

Also, here are some pics of the sleeping shelf after I modified it a bit,

And of course you can't own a cruiser without having all the 'extras'

Easy there, Dylan is still living at home!

I was thinking the same thing, though. That's a big back seat........:flipoff2:

Boones Farm, that is classy stuff. Do they make that s*** anymore? I asked my dad about it and he said HIS mom drank it.

Tech: It does fit a queen size bed

:flipoff2:

Yeulp!
The wife and I had the joy of nuzzleing up in a queen sized mattress in the back of the blotch rig...VERY NICE...almost as nice as the Sheridan!:D Especially when its rain/ snow and in the 20* range.
You gotta be carful though...SOA= long ASS DROP when you have to get up in the middle of the nigt to take a leak after many adult beverages around the camp fire!
