That is a REALLY clean 60 you have there. What a cool family history with it. Congrats on a sweet ride.
BTW: Thanks for making me feel like an old fart, jackass.
cool story! I have the same story as you! now I'm 24 but I've been drinving and fixing my 60 since I was 18... my dad also bought it brand new back in 1982 and it was our car till my dad bought a blazer and then left the old 60 seven years in the garage untill I graduated from highschool!
I understand your love for your car because I'm in the same situation! I coudn't imagine me driving another car and feel like I'm driving the car of my dreams! also wanted to drive it since I was a little kid!
cheers!!!! and great rig! take care of it! I'll get some pics of my truck when I have the chance! sorry for my bad english!

The history is the best part! You've come a long way with yours I think I remember seeing a picture of it stock and I just read your signature. Thing ain't stock any more haha
Is there anything someone wants to see on my cruiser? I can take a photo of anything.
Yeah I remember putting stickers on the back windows when I was like 5....and realizing that was a bad idea once I finally got the truck. Peeled em off a little while ago haha, that was tough.
And yes NQCruiser I probably had a photo somewhere with a 12th Man towel in it. My older brother graduated from A&M and my twin brother is going there now.
My oldest boy wanted to know "when you die can I have the land crusier" I told him it would be up to his mom.
That was ten years ago, I am not giving up the ship "or my truck" yet.
GOD BLESS ...

Awesome story and history. Good job to your dad for keeping it in such good shape and to you for the freshen-up.
Maybe its just the angles in the first few pictures, but your dad looks to be very tall at 6'6"+. Or maybe I've just never walked up to a bone stock 60 and been able to look at the top without a ladder and I'm 6"1".

Haha, bone stock 60's are pretty short. He is 6'4" and I'm now 6'5" believe it or not.
The roof of my cruiser with OME and 33's is under 7' I know for sure because I have been in 7' garages, my antennae fully extended will strike but not the roof.
what a great story, and like everyone else, I love the vintage shots. the cruiser, as you have it set up now, looks beautiful.
one question for ya, if I read things right, you have a twin brother. How the heck did you beat him out for rights to the Cruiser, or did he get the Targa?

My Twin never really liked it as much as I did, he made an agreement with my Dad, $4000 towards a project car.
What my brother's car looks like today.
CA18DET motorswap, 5 lug conversion w/ 300zx brakes, solid rear sub-frame bushings, lsd from correct era matching the engine, lowered (a lot), 17 inch wheels, side skirt's, rear valence, spoiler, full 3 inch exhaust. Thing has a lot done to it. All built on a $500 shell That was fun to work on that thing.
Not as big as you might think, lol. It's close enough that I can reach my hand out the driver's window and touch the garage support beams. Maybe 2" of clearance? Remember, close only counts with horse shoes and hand grenades
