I am currently looking to purchase a roof rack. Searched the main forums to gather some info but wanted to get input from other SoCalers. Looking for something stealthy and low profile since the rig is my daily driver. Also thinking of adding forward, rear and side lighting. The African Outback rack is nice and on my wish list. Others I have considered are ARB, Baja Rack (not too stealthy) and Inti ($$$$). I really like the Inti racks but are they easy to source or do I have to get one from some shady group buy? The main use is for gear storage. Seeing the Inti up close at Toys for Tots got me thinking away from a stealthy rack. I can't make up my mind. With 3 boys and a large German Sheppard inside area is pretty much full.

I'm in the same boat right now. I'd love to have the Hannibal but it's $$$$$.

I had a tradesman on my last 80 and it was a beast. Extremely heavy duty but not too stealthy.

The lowest profile rack I have seen is the wind cheetah or the home built using the aluminum quad ramps. I think Hays (screen name) has a write-up.

The group but for the Inti doesn't seem to be shady. Three sales phases have already been delivered.

Gotta agree with Mark. I was EXTREMELY sceptical about the INTI seller in Florida, but he's come thru very nicely with several rounds of racks. I'm convinced he's legit. Other SoCal folks have gotten racks thru him recently.

It's not the stealthiest of racks, but great for mounting front, side and rear lights. :D It'll hold more weight than you'd ever dream of putting up there too.

Thanks fellas. I read that some where skeptical of the reseller but I saw a recently delivered Inti at Toys for Tots this year. Decisions...decisions...

Matt, lets look for a group buy of 2.

How much are they going for? The Bajarack looks nice and is only about $600, right?

Here's a platform we built for a SoCal Mudder: https://forum.ih8mud.com/ca-socal-80s/403472-diamondrax-roof-rack.html?highlight=diamondrax.

Depending on your needs, we can build a custom rack for you....anything from a platform (like the above), to a basket rack with 3", 4" or 6" sides. We can weld on as many tabs as you'd like for mounting lights. Plus, we're located in Lake Arrowhead, so you could pick it up (or we could arrange delivery) and you could save the shipping $$$.

PM me if you're interested. Good luck in your search!

If you want "stealth" then go with a Front Runner or a AO rack. If you want a lightweight rack that doesn't carry a large load go with the Bajarack. If you want a not-so-stealth rack that will carry anything go with the INTI. It all comes down to need/want to carry and the amount of money you want to spend.

This one looks nice! Always cool to support local vendors too.

Inti racks are bank but they are great for hauling heavy loads.

Similar to what I am looking to get.

PM sent and local too

Budget is a concern but I want quality too.

Yes, I am really liking this build.

Gobi Stealth would be ideal IMO but $$$$ too. No option for the 80 but will a version for the 60 fit?

Maybe moving the mesh at the front back a bit to allow the sunroof to open.

I was trying to stay away from a roof rack on the lc due to it's height but this post has peaked my curiosity...

Hahahaha! I was thinking of adding some "rack" shots but decided against it.

The "standard" width for a 60/62 rack would be 54" if using the rain gutter clamps. For an 80 series, it would be 48". Putting the 60 series rack on an 80 would make the rack the widest part of the rig.....not the best idea IMHO, but doable.

I got your PM and will respond right now.....thanks!
