Rolled the cruiser, let the fun begin!

At least strip all the goodies off before they come to pick it up. Take the wheels/tires, put donuts on it or something...

Take the $10k. Use $5k to buy a decent commuter car like a subaru. Use the additional $5k to help pay your insurance for the next couple of years. Seriously, this is a time in life to learn your lessons and take your lumps. You need very deep pockets to play seriously in the Land Cruiser game. That will have to wait.

x2...

Want to show the folks that you've learned your lesson and want to become responsible for you actions? Get the $$, but a cheap reliable economically minded vehicle and hand the rest of the $$ over to your folks to help cover increased insurance rates and what not. I can't remember if you stated the rig is paid off and whether you or the folks bought it originally?

Maybe your parents don't want the $$ but I bet they'd appreciate the gesture.

Maybe I'm being judgmental, but I am a little surprised that your parents are even letting you weigh in on the decision. You trashed your last car screwing around; I'm not sure I'd want your input on what to do next, esp. if it was costing me money.

You tell'em Jason!!!!

Being young makes everything alright! I woulda done it in daddy's though ;)

You gotta learn on something might as well be this!

great movie!

so what is the current status of this vehicle now? I saw that the post was moved back up. so is it chopped up yet? are you going to?

Well, hope your insurance covers everything. And, glad you're ok. It's incidents like these that give me rigs to poke around in at the junkyard. I'd sugest buying an ATV if you want to drift. My bros and I love drifting--and when you roll an ATV it's a lot less metal and plastic flying around and--in my case--a lot less damaging (although definately still dangerous). I had similar situations on my Grizzly 660 when I added new oversized mud tires. Too much traction + too much height = 3 scary but luckily laughable rolls! And, with all three rolls I only "suffered" a couple scratches on the limited edition red paint (poor paint--ha ha). Drove away problem free each time. (And a couple of the rolls were pretty harsh...due to encountering a large tree stump in the path of a steep hill I was climbing--I flipped backwards with passanger. And, rolled once after jumping a three foot sheer wall while exiting a deep (tires submerged) creek (while in 4lo)--I flew out too fast and went over an emabnkment and flipped into a 5' revine and was pinned under the Grizz and on top of a fallen tree that was a couple feet above ground). LAST WORD: know what your machine is made for. LC + new MTs + lift = is a bad *** 4x4...not an ATV or rally car. :0

This really should be moved to chat...;)

Here is what I drift these days...

Alert!! Alert!
A locked 80 is NOT a sports car! Just ask Brother Rob! If you want a vehicle to handle well when driving sideways, I have a Celica for sale. It has limited slip in the rear and will slide around a corner really well! It will do it on pavement, gravel or on any other surface that you choose. It handles better in a four-wheel drift than it does with grip. I like it better on wet, oily roads than on dry pavement. It handles best with minimal traction. My Celica is most fun when it is in a sliding turn. I love that car!
But a LC is not that kind of car. It will simply lock and roll! Neither you nor your truck are exempt from the laws of physics. A LC is not a sports car! It is a tractor with AC and leather seats. When you try to slide it sideways, it will just roll over! If you want to pitch a car into a sliding turn, buy a sports car, not a LC.

....Thank you for that purely original information. Nobody has presented such ideas in the past.

Dude, you rolled over a nice truck while acting like a doofus. Take your lumps. You're in an indefensible position.

When people screw up, they have got to take crap over it. It's called learning (sometimes it's called marriage). You posted up about it, so enjoy the criticism.
