well i definably am glad to be back, i not only still get to see the finished R.O.A.M. but also get to watch you build another one.

Amazing build... love the trailer and LOVE that gen 4runner. The trail edition is so sweet!!! Where do you go camping? Looks like you may be on the bank of the hudson in some pics. I would love a local place to go, let me know.

Couple of my favorite spots are Sylvan Lake and Fahnstock Sp, both located in Dutchess Co., and in PA. I love Worlds End SP, Rickets Glenn SP, Promised Land SP, have a few private spots near Roscoe, and Margretsville/Arkville. Love the trout fishing up there.
Bear Mountain early in the year is fun!
Went to Vermont at the fall of last year, and loved it....gonna be doing more of that area also!

Same thing here, the pics com out like they are only half loaded. Too bad as these pics would be nice too see. Perhaps a mod could assist with this if you still have those pics around.

Well it's that time of the year agian..and based on the fact the weather here in the NE has been unbelievable...it was time to get crackin!!
Started foaming the interior, gonna pick up some 3/8" pine wainscoting for the inside.
The plan is to make panels and screw them in with exposed fasteners, in case I want to get to something down the road, or make repair.
I have to keep things rolling as the first trip is 3 days of OEX training in Connecticut on the 19th, 20th and 21st. of this month...and I'd like to be all buttoned up, everything done, so I can just enjoy it this year.
Here's a shot of todays progress (and of course, I've commandeered the garage again, so Her Highness will have to leave the car out...God she hates this trailer....

I did find about 8 tape measures over the weekend while organizing that I had layed down and then couldn't find. (dollar store is my friend since about 6 are from there , cant find it buy another to the point I was buying them as a preemptive strike )
Just finished rebuilding and installed the 1st window and antenna for the radio. worked on making the fresh water tank brackets tonight .

Doing a great job as usual Pat, when are you headed west to do some exploring/camping. Would love to hook up with you in Colorado sometime. We are headed there on the 13th of July, will be there through the end of the month it sounds like, or maybe a week in Moab, not sure. Short notice of course, but maybe next year, you could hit the Summit, not just for FJ's anymore, all Toyotas are welcome and we have had some Nissan, Broncos, and a Raptor last year.
Anyway looking good, keep us posted up to date.
There is a pretty good chance we are going to the Jeep thing in Iowa on September 22, and then to Nebraska for the Wisconsin game. Will be in Iowa for about 4 days it sounds like.

I'm going to do a couple of 3-4 day stints between now and winter. When I see all those beautiful mountains and trails you guys get to play on...I really feel gipped..lol.
There's a good amount of guys heading to the Summit from the T4R.Org site...that sounds like a real blast!

Well..I did pull everything out of the inside and get it poly'd..but it still needs some corner trim. Home projects got tin the way as they always do..
..There has been a bit of a "change of direction" though..
After spending 8 nights sleeping inside the camper, on my trout fishing and OEX training trip this spring, I really liked it. It's a bit tight, but not to bad. Then I started thinking..
Then I saw Bob's new Oztent idea on the Ouray Base Campand it was downhill from there. I knew I wanted something that I didn't have to climb an aluminum horse to set up, but after my canopy just about flew away fishing, I knew I needed something that could be set up without fear of holding up, and also provide a comfortable, enclosed area in inclimate weather. Soooo........ (insert "damn you Bob" here..

.......and in it's place .....is a Command Post Tent!! Now I know you're saying to yourself..."Self..what in the hell is a Command Post Tent..?"
Behold!!...The Command Post Tent!!
It's an 11' x 11' heavy polyester walled pop up canopy, or wall tent, on friggin steriods!!
It comes in 3-4 seperate bags, and depending on your needs, can be set as minimal or complete as conditions dictate. It even has a stove jack, so my dream of doing some winter camping can happen after all.
It's not light, but the ROAM will go on a diet, and there won't be a any serious differences in that department. By losing the the RTT, annex, existing First Up canopy and walls, and a few other goodies, it should be a wash!! So the plan is to create and opening in the blank wall, that can be booted up against the trailer. They do make a boot wall, but I think I can make something just as good, and lighter. The trailer will be butted up against the end with the peak.
So Bob..thanks a &#@*! lot for the ideas...and costing me another $1200 smackeroos...hope I can return the favor soon...
