Hi riffman12, looks to me like the ROADSAFE recovery points are set up for metal shackles. also, can you take a material thickness measurement as I don't see it on the webpage.

What's your take on manual rounding the edges for soft shackles?

finally, from an engineering stand point, seems like ROADSAFE has increased load on mounting hardware (due to mounting hardware distance from line load and bending moments (super sensative to distance)). what say MUD?

I’ve been running these on my 100 for years with several pulls including using a snatch block. They’ve been great. I had mine powder coated gunmetal bc I wasn’t feeling the yellow. Be sure to use the correct hardware

Im guessing RS manufactures these for Ironman in red but that’s just an assumption

ROADSAFE recovery points are set up for metal shackles

Krect. Ran my finger over them and the edge isn't rounded enough for soft shackles. The 16 x 19mm 3,250kg bow shackle is the right one to join the recovery points to the tree protector strap. Having done a few sand recoveries in my time, the 2 recovery points + tree protector strap + 9m kinetic recovery strap means safe and easy recoveries every time.

Roadsafe gear is $$, but very high quality.
