Thanks for the question... regarding the lift. I opted for only 1.5 inch lift (for the fears that you indicate) and did not get crazy with the tires. As a result, it feels in great. Interesting that you should ask though, because I think that the power steering has been the biggest issue to get used to. At higher speeds I think I began oversteering it, after spending years wrestling the manual steering! In short, I find the 1.5 lift not much different...

I was thinking about doing an EMU kit and wanted to know is this only 1.5"s of lift? Looks higher to me, I have a 1969 FJ40 and wanted to go with a 2.5" lift but fear things will be out of whack it I go that high. With a 1.5" lift does that keep everything stock? No other mods required on this lift I guess is my question.

My experience is that up to 3" at least you need do nothing except change the springs, there will be no driveshaft issues as long as you don't change wheelbase, I never even had to change brake hoses. I have heard even 4" is OK but I have no personal experience with that.

wow, clean ass truck love the wheels.

I did a search here on "Cruiser Porn" and your rig came up. Just sick!!!!. Thanks for posting.

absolutely gorgeous! Most likely in better shape than the day it originally sold!

PTO spooling problem

...My current projects are:.... (b) figuring out why the PTO winch appears to go in one direction (reverse) and not the other. By the way I bought the PTO set up from CruiserParts.net, never did seem to get the whole setup (e.g., the driveshaft), and I fear that I have the wrong gearbox for a 4 speed. I will probably contact them soon to see if they are willing to help fix the problem and supply remaining part (they have been responsive to me in the past, but I will let you know how this turns out)....Don

Not a bad cruiser Don.

(And in "down-under lingo".....that means its "bloody terrific".)

As far as your winch problem is concerned, you may want to read this thread (which seems to confirm your suspicions):
