I picked up an extra wheel as a spare that has the same style lug nuts as mamas truck came with.

@dogfishlake had one of his guys blast it this morning when I went to pick up a rustfree inner left front fender.

I’m using Duplicolor self etching primer and the same Graphite color wheel paint to match the rest on the truck.

The injectors cleaned up nicely and are ready to be reinstalled. It was only $62 for the service!

Today my son and I went hardware scrounging at a local junkyard where I not only found some extra 8mm nuts for various parts, but also a pair of 14mm engine mount flange nuts from two Elantras. They are a direct fit for the 1fze frame/engine mounts.

My kid also scored a car jack for his Interceptor Crown Vic and bags of wheel weights for making his own rifle ammo.

So I was trying to put the exhaust manifold on mamas engine and couldn’t get the last bolt in.

It seems that the front gasket I’m using on the back has a slightly different hole pattern on one. I’ll have to pencil grind the hole out tomorrow...

The reason for using the second front manifold gasket is because I had the egr port brazed shut and want a good seal there.

Should I expect any issues with opening up the hole?

The gasket mid worked out and the manifold is installed.

I also took the engine mounted tranny hard lines to work to blast and repaint to rid them of the corrosion that had started. I primed and painted them with chassis paint and left them to cure last night next to the furnace.

A long project that reflects your patience and dedication. Bravo!

I met @dogfishlake at a nearby shop to trade off a 96 1fze and tranny I bought from Joel Ward.

Pat took the engine home and I kept the tranny and some engine tidbits.

Then I grabbed some stainless brushes and Purple Power cleaner to clean up the intake manifolds on our 80. I can’t believe the difference!

It’s been a bit since I’ve updated the thread, so here’s where I am with it.

I’ve sanitized all of the under-dash stuff and it’s ready to be reassembled. I finally got around to swapping a 92 Inner and outer front right fender including welding the flare holes and lots of hours of sanding and paint.

I’m nearly finished with swapping in an addition tranny cooler as a PS cooler on the right side in front of the radiator. I also bought a Tacoma antenna base.

I have about 2 weeks to get it all back together before a week long “Super-Drill” (Air Gaurd) and rotator cuff surgery...and I’m determined...
