I like that bracket for the OBA setup...tho I've used the stock Harrison pancake for years with no problems
are you running serps, and how does their kit deal with that?? How is the height of the compressor relative to the hood?

today, sunday, i wanted to prepp everything for the front end so when i get the housing back from my buddy rodney, i'll be ready to go on with the assmebly of the "outers". rodney is setting up the 4:56 gears and power lock limited slip for me over the weekend. since i've only done a handful of differential gear setups and he has done literally hundrets, i figured i'd call in a favor and have him do it for me.
i finally got to use the bead blaster and it works awesome. problem is, the air compressor has a reallly hard time keeping up. i'll just live with it since i don't do that much beadblasting. a new compressor would take away some of the "pocket money' i have set aside for this project so it's gonna have to wait.
i got all the parts cleaned up, bearings and races knocked put, grease wiped out, threads chased, blasted and painted. i also wire wheeled the wheel studs and cleaned up the threads on them. last thing i want is to run into a bad thread or other preventable trouble during assembly.
that took pretty much all day, including cleaning up the mess i made.

i'm going to order a serpentine pulley from kilby for the york. i'll be able to run a single belt and the compressor lines up perfect. i had to lay it down or it would have hit the hood, but now it should be cool.

Thanks for sharing all teh pics. I was happy because I cleaned out a box of radom crap from my old garage when I move da year and ahalf ago...how about a pice of teh blast cabniet...It is on my list someday..thanks

Good to hear you have all the thing to fix the wifes rig on the trail. I don't have to worry anymore about fixing all my f-ups :whoops: . I'll be hitting you up with some ????'s about the york when it's time to work on my rig(yaa like i'll ever get to it).See you on Saterday maybe Wednesday.

the bead blaster i jave is a snap on model, not a benchtop but free standing. i can dig up the part # and take a pic if you want.
bought it from a guy on the pbb right after i joined that board.

only problem i'm having is that the compressor can't keep up with it, so i have to wait for it to charge back up. and let it cool down from time to time. don't wanna kill it too soon.

got home tonite and found a package from AA on my porch; the new 27 spline atlas input gear. after dinner with my wife, i snuck off to the garage and pulled the atlas back out of the cruiser, installed the new input gear for the th700 and did the prelim mock-up of the atlas shifters. here's a pic during mid-assembly of the atlas.
Well i was playin in moab to much and missed a bunch 
89 or earlier dodge d60 cut 4" like 63 to 63.5" wms
Which last time i was playin with measurements i believe would still land you
on stock springs?
DID you cut and turn the other side while you had the one off???? sorry if i could not
catch it earlier. Dodge runs the least amount of caster in all their d60s. Stock is 2 degrees!!!
We run a 4runner on 40's or 44's with 2 degrees and it does 55mph without problems and actually steers better then any of my cruisers.
long front driveshaft will probably be ok, with the low pinion angle.
pre 89 housing still should have a 16" short axle? and they are neckdown inners? I seem to only play with chevy or a few late dodge housings.
having a hard time finding 35 spline flanges or lockouts?? let me know i will see if a guy is still making them.

sorry i did'nt reply earlier. i will be running stock type springs, so i do not have to mess with the passenger side perch (cast into the housing),
i did not do a cut-n-turn on that side cause i figured i'd be able to get away with not doing it. seems some other guys have done the same setup with the dodge housing.
not sure on the shaft length. i'm probably gonna have some shafts cut by moser next week, gotta do a little more measuring first. the axles neck down at the ends.
i have the 35 spline outers located, been waiting to come across a good deal on 35 spline warn hubs, but looks like i'm gonna have to pay the piper on them. i'm trying to be as patient with my parts purchases as possible so i don't blow my "budget" for this build. win some, loose some.

sorry might have been a long day but it just does not full comprehend what you got going?
LOL on the cut and turn, too many do not, as they do not realize that the lack of caster and low pinion angle causes huge amounts of problems. But short height and long front driveshaft can take care of that problem, now large tires and little caster well that is a bit more of a pain.
These were factory neckdown shafts? sorry but currently no one i know has any to tell me, and i am working on a deal of 5 of these early dodge axles. I have had three later models that are not neckdowns.
In the pic you show the early dodge bolt on hubs/lockouts (dates the axle 89 and earlier), but to my knowledge there never was a 35 spline warn bolt on lockout????? or do you have some internal splined hubs that you are going to use?
BTW is that a th400 short shaft there on the bench? lol 203 version looks a bit shorter.
