I bought yesterdays models, $225 why not?
AFAIK, the $225 one was the older older model. The $325 was the past model and this is, well, the new model...
I should add, that when I was talking to Mel before buying mine, he was very straightforward about there being a new model in the plans. In fact, we talked about it and I made suggestions about what I thought could be improved on the older one. I assumed the changes would be less dramatic, though, but that was probably just my interpretation...
Yes, the new model shows a bunch of improvements. Whether they are wrth the extra $200 or $300, you have to decide for yourself.....

Got the last one from Luis that had a cover...now if I just had a woof wack for the 62...or the 40...or the trailer...looks very nice, can't wait! I feel destined to try it in Big Bend since I'm close, or at least Davis Mountains Nat'l park...pix to come.

I just got the 2007 demo a few days ago.
its real good looking tent ,,all the floor is aluminum plate and frame .
will be doing a review preety soon and video .
I been recieving docens and docens of email asking me if im going to be selling this tents and the answer is yes..if i can get a smoking deal for all of you. it takes lots of money to invest and time .

I would say that a wet bed is the most likely scenario. If this tent gets wet it folds right up onto the mattress... 
I think for the cost we paid, most of us will live with the "con's" of this tent.

I also got one of the Mombassa tents from Luis. I'm replacing the bottom wood/cardboard with sheets of 1/8" HDPE from McMaster-Carr. I had multiple dents/dings and a couple of holes in the boards from shipping. The wood isn't very sturdy to begin with. The plastic will be much more durable. I also added some weather stripping to the "air gap" between the two panels. Should keep the wind out.
Haven't tried it yet, but hopefully soon - before it get hot.

Well after finally figuring out a decent way to mount this thing I finally got around to doing it. I went this route since for now everything it will be on will be a yakima. My opinion much stronger and won't slop side to side. Downside is it will take a little longer to put on. But the rivets holding the brackets on are only aluminum and there are only 12 total for the whole tent 
Hopefully test it out soon. Now to come up with something for the ladder, wouldn't mind getting one from the new model.

Looks great! Much more stout mounting, but what is keeping it from sliding side to side? The pressure of the 6 Yakima clamps?
