Dusty66, your rig makes me drool, congrats. We make 9mm SS Braided hoses all day long, but we only have the 9mm male fittings, not female. This forces us to get into Swagelock fittings sometimes where a female would have been required.

Thank you

The biggest Problem is with making 9 mm hose is getting a hold 9 mm female ends .
Also the other is going into the back of the T fittings they are not 9 mm, I don't know what size they are ... maybe wentworth ?

So It was worth going to Mark he knows his old cruiser parts and getting a OEM Toyota part off the Shelf was totoly cool !

You sir are a glutton for punnishment ;)

I ordered an kit today, it set me back $225-. I got the 9mm in S/S. A little steep, but it will be worth it to me in the long run. The resto is starting to put a dent in my wallet.

Yea Resto = being broke  and never done !

That is GREAT news. I still can't believe you're gonna trail run that rig!

Thinking of maybe a Saline run in November? December? Maybe they'll have South Pass fixed back up by then.

:beer: to you my friend. Guages on the way tomorrow.;)

Trail rig  no rocks and bushes for this truck !

The FJC it for now It has lot of desert pin stripe on It already

I think the FJ55 needs to be the real trail rig

Hy Mark how about posting up the FJ45 hose part ##s or are they top secret :grinpimp:

The 1969-older models that have 9mm at the frame are actually 11mm at the front backing plates and rear T fitting. We have the 9mm and 11mm male fittings, we just don't have the 9mm females needed for the top end of the rear hose. We then make up rear hoses for customers using a rear Swagelock that double-flares itself onto their original steel line at the frame.

11mm good to know ! I don't know If Classic tube has 9mm females ether, any case they can't make the hose at this time.

At least Toyota made all three the same thread size's :D

pretty sure you can still get the hoses for a 40, I have some new ones I got when I picked up my 45LV...and cant see why a 45 would have longer front rubber hoses than a 40

even the little hose springs can be had OEM

As In my first post Classic tube Only suppled the SS hard lines complete Kit,

Marks off Road suppled the three OEM fj45 9 mm rubber lines witch are 4" longer than OEM fj40 9 mm I'll get the part rubber hose part # when he gets back from Death Valley :p

I was aware that stock fj40 9 mm hose available,

I needed 4'' longer to account for the 4" lift on my rig, apparently the rear axle hose on the fj45 is 4" longer so I bought 3 pre 70s OEM FJ45 rear axle hose.

Pimp,
Check your 1965-ish FSM. The frt frame dimensions for FJ45LP are slightly differnet from FJ40L. The spring location and axle location is shifted slightly. Learned this the hard way recently.

So the front brake hoses may be slightly different, 40 vs 45.

Oh that!

141-13HA

Same # as stock. You just have to specify you want the 'longer' hose.

I'll be darned......and will take your word for it :)

What are the chances of getting a break down of all the known part numbers for a complete 9mm brake line overhaul, and then part numbers for everything else we need for our older brakes...anyone have this already done?

Like I said, one of the best examples of original paint on an early cluster I've come across. The pewter is definitely a different shade than the newer ones. Hi-beam lens is cleaner than the one on my resto. Enjoy.

Braided brake lines

I am a newbie here and have a 72 fj40. currently replacing master and all 8 brake cylinders. Decided while I am in there I should do an axle rebuild (Somewhat over my head) Front brake lines were badly cracked and I was able to find braided ones from Skyjacker Suspensions via a local shop here in Denver. Too bad the shop thought they were sold in pairs and I have to wait a week for them to get the 2nd one. I think they sell the one for the rear as well and they are all a longer than stock to accommodate a lift.
Hope the picture attaches!

CT, welcome to MUD.

Glad you're comfortable posting, but....
your info is in the wrong thread. THis thread is specific to the 9mm lines, which are a peculiar animal to the pre-71 cruisers.

FWIW, I think your lines are too long. A lift kit does nothing to change the distances you've highlighted in your photo. Only differences are in lines that run from axle to frame.

Downey Off Road also sells the lines, in many different lengths.

Best

Mark A.
