Retrofit Steering Wheel Controls??

Hi guys, I have a 2002 LC and am curious if I can retrofit a newer steering wheel that has built-in controls? Anyone have experience with this or hear of anyone who has done it? May be impossible, but thought I'd ask.

different internals on the wheel, metal wise, I'm pretty sure. Also the wires from the stock deck are missing, probably. You could but it would be expensive. New deck and new wire sets through the column to new wheel. Hub and airbag compatibility?? IDK

Anyone ever make any progress with this? I'd add the new wheel to a '98 LX and add an aftermarket head unit. Seems unlikely but I was wondering the same as OP.
