I just got a badass set of LED fog lights from Bens3DBuild. I’m undecided how I want to handle the turn signal issue though… I’m considering getting a generic trailer turn signal set and just mounting them to the bumper, but I am an extreme novice in the way of vehicle electrical… would it even be possible to hookup an LED light to the old turn signal circuit or would the current be wrong (amperage)?

Alternately I could just buy the electrical plug and wire a resistor in so the system thinks there’s a light there…

Thoughts?

I’ll throw up some pics of the install in a few… the improvement in light throw/saturation is INCREDIBLE!

Photo for reference. I’m planning on mounting the turn signal above the fog lamps as there is nothing behind the bumper cover and I may trim the bottom in the future.

Move them up into the corner marker
That’s an interesting idea… I actually need to replace mine at some point… had to drill a hole to drain accumulated water so they’re not sealed anymore… I could mount a small LED onto the inner reflector…

There are a number of "how to" to convert the side markers to turn markers on this site. It requires some parts from your local Toyota dealer and also some minor surgery of the connector on the LX470 side marker housing (or you can get some LC100 side marker housings that have the right connectors). This is what I intend on doing after I get Ben's fog lights. I didn't want to not have side markers for the front.

I’ll do a search for those threads… so the LC100 are already wired for the turn signals in addition to the markers?

I'm not sure if the LC100 is already wired since I have an LX470. What I do know is that the LC100 accommodates the 2 filament bulb that you'll need for the side market to also act as a turn marker. You'll have to get the sockets the 3 prong connectors that you'll need to run wires from the old turn markers to the side markers. It will all make sense after you read the posts and watch cruiser patch's video.

Sweet, I appreciate the info! Wasn’t even aware of the project write ups. Heading there now. 👍🏻
