I came across it on craiglist, almost by accident. It had been sitting for like 10 years--ouch! The pig was so heavy, the tires were bogged down in the mud, and of course the ground was frozen and I didn't bring the recovery equipment I should have... I aired the tires up and used a jack to pop the tires loose and fill the ruts with boards. Then we towed it out! The brakes still worked when we rolled it out to the trailer!
From the looks of it, it spent some time in Montana and New York before heading to Upper Michigan. The body isn't too bad--has some oilcanning on the roof and hood, the front floor needs replacing (rear is solid, frame is solid!). In all, a relatively complete vehicle. Neat safari rack and front brush bar with what looks like a winch box.
It's over at my brother's house right now--I'll get out later this week and snap some more pics. I think it will be a fun project!
