I believe I have a torn or starting to tear left motor mount.
On a ridiculous climb the fan started to hit the shroud (slightly).
I purchased all 3 new mounts, new hardware, and have the 2 fronts ready to come out.

The threads I searched were all about engine swaps or complete rebuilds.
Is there a way to do this with the engine in the truck??
The engine has to come up at least 3" to clear the top and bottom studs and be able to wiggle the mounts out.
The fan/shroud is no issue, but I'm concerned with the exhaust.
Looking for tips/tricks/etc.

Use wood blocks to lift the engine at the upper oil pan one side at a time at the front left or right corner. The engine will tilt.

Yeah this is what I would do.
To add, loosen both but only lift one side at a time. I had to do this when replacing my brake booster and was worried the engine may come completely off the mount.

X3, wood block and a jack. Worked for me.
 
Well, that was fun.
Both front mounts were trash. Completely separated and fell apart.
Of course I went at it before reading any of the replies and jacked the motor from the lower oil pan.
Had just enough clearance to get the fronts in, but wasn't able to get them in place with the covers on, so now the motor sits 1/16" lower than before.
I guess it'll be OK if I only park facing east.
 
My bad motor mounts cost me 2 radiators, a fan and 2 shrouds and stranded on a paradise.....you live and learn.
 
It's doable. I've done this a couple of times. The trick is to unbolt the engine mount brackets from the block (4 M12 bolts). With the engine jacked up slightly (lowering the tranny crossmember helps as well to allow you to jack up the engine more), you assemble the engine mount sandwich loosely, then bolt the mount brackets to the block, then lower the engine and tighten the mount nuts.

Tried that approach. Not possible on the left side of the 1FZ-FE.
Well, anything is possible, but certainly more of a project than I was looking to get into.

In the interim, all 3 are new OEM with new OEM hardware all around.
Seems like the engine sits a bit higher than before with certainly less movement when getting on the throttle.

Truck is all back together and it seems as if I didn't **** anything up, which is unusual for me.
 
Congrats dude!

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but I usually loosen the fan shroud so that when the fan moves upward with the engine, it takes the shroud with it.
