Gents,
What I need is year differences and what changes occured, upper fenders lower fenders, floor sections, tailgates, door sections..Are there changes, once I can get all the information I can gather then I'll know where to start. What years are more common to rust, if not all, I need to narrow it down, I cannot make dies for all different years, Well I can but somebody will have to send me a very large bag of cash...

As far as I have seen there are 4 changes in the years from 68-80?
Paul.

Also, Yeh, bulk orders are better for me..10 of this, 20 of these, 5 of these..blah, blah..A container is by far the best route, Wether a shorty or 40ft,.
It works out much better for you guys too with the shipping price..ie for me to ship 25kilos(60lb) cost is $176 4 day AIR..

Another thing..
If someone could organise this your side I will reproduce parts that are needed.
I'm doing the same with the 45lv, Mike aka Treeroot has send me down all that is necessary for the reproduction of the lv. I'm dealing only through him for the lv parts, he has been getting feedback from the lv community of what parts are needed, and now we are month away from reproductions.
So what would really help is somebody with the knowledge of what changes there were, what will fit, what's necessary.. Yep I know there are many people who need floor pans, but will a 68 pan be the same as a 77 etc etc..
I want to do these, but I need somebody to step up and organise it your side,
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated greatly.
Regards.
Paul.

I would be willing to be the contact person so we can get things rolling and some pig parts produced, the only problem I see is although I have been dealing with Cruisers for some time, I am not that familiar with the FJ55's, and I don't have any spare parts. I have been talking to Paul for a couple of weeks now and this is what we would need to do.

"I need to have somebody capable of sending me originals when needed(they pay).someone to take control of this and get it organised..Year changes, what parts are necessary, WILL THAT PART FIT ON ANOTHER YEAR..BLAH BLAH.What parts are needed."

Please let me know if this is something that everyone is interested in helping me with.

Thanks
Scott

Depending on time frames, we can fill the container that is headed to my place. Distribution once the parts are in the U.S. will be tricky but I think we can try and keep shipping materials to a bare mininum to keep prices lower.

Great, I will see what type of timeframe Paul needs to get some pig parts made, that will help out a lot.

I am new to the 55's as well, and I appreciate the link. What I think we need to do is decide what parts will be compatable between years, even with minor changes, then have those years made. Since IronPigOffroad is making rockers, I don't think those are too important, but front fenders(upper and lowers), rear quarters, and floorboards should be a must. Let me know what parts you feel we should have made.

Thanks
Scott

i will need body parts in the next few months..1972 fj55
drivers side floor pan at front...both lower front fender and a patch panel for the rear where it is rounded would be really sweet...my knowledge of pigs is minimal at this point but anything i can do to help with this undertaking please sign me up

I think you got it right, floorpans, quarters, front fenders...

Tailgate skins? The embossed TOYOTA would be :grinpimp: , but could be trouble from a trademark perspective.

I think there may be a trouble spot under the rear seat floorpan as well?

I'll try to enlist the Pig List for help on compatibility!

You rock sir! Thanks for the help!

name in the hat

When it comes time hopefully someone can email all who posted to this thread, as for me I believe I could buy a round of floors just to have them when they are needed.

What Paul is looking for is how much interest there is for FJ55 parts. I am pretty sure he could sell a bunch of front fenders, and I think the quarterpanel and floor boards would be the next on the list. Anyway, anyone with interest, please post with what you are interested in and what years.

Thanks
Scott

Lets make this happen

1970 fenders and floorboards (front) Floorboards higher priority

I could use some patch panels that would cover bottoms of quarters and front fenders all the way around, I think that most rust through on 55s I see is on the bottoms, the shipping would be much less if smaller

Just a side note, their is a difference in floorboards in the early and later fj55's. The floorboard contour for the trans hump is different. Transmission humps are not all interchangable. But this doesn't matter since a new hump can easily be obtained. Don't have a damn clue when they changed.

This is what we need - any further details/documentation?
