Wednesday was a week ago.

What did you find?

Pulled it back to the house today and was going to pull the starter and decided to turn it over one more time. It turned over fine for a bit and then stopped like before. Then it dawned on me....it was getting hydro locked. Pulled the plugs and turned it over and #5 was full of fuel. Continued to turn it over with the efi fuse in and every rotation it would pump out fuel from #5. Guess I have a stuck injector or a bad ground causing it to just flood out.

Delancy picked up a new accessory for me today.

50 quart Arb Fridge Freezer!

Thanks to an awesome Mudder!

I'd have picked up a lil' sumpin, sumpin for myself, that'd probably allowed me to complete the entire 72 body this weekend, non-stop, without food even, had the seller offered.

Obviously I'm joking, even though it ain't a laughing matter, in reality.

The starter on the engine was an off brand rebuild so I ordered a new Toyota remanufactured unit. They had both 1.4 kw and a 2.0 kw models and the price difference was just $20 so we got the "cold conditions" 2.0 kw model. Got to put the rest of the accessories on, belts on, distributor, new packing, new rotor and new wires on. The fan was cleaned and installed. Clutch seems to be in excellent shape. Went a head and ordered a new ECU temp sender, new exhaust manifold to pipe studs and some miscellaneous wiring harness clamps and tabs. PHH replaced with silicon hose and constant torque clamps from 1FZFEPHH.com

Hopefully this weekend it will be going back in!

Motor is in and most everything is hooked up except for the transmission harness, the O2 sensor harness and installing the battery box, air cleaner, radiator, fan, and shroud. I can not express my love for working with a lift instead of on the floor with jack stands and jacks! Pics to follow.

She's alive! Got everything hooked up and filled the radiator up and she fired right up. Ran it in the shop for a bit and topped the radiator and transmission off and took her down to fill her up. Very smooth with just a little exhaust tick somewhere. Cruise and ac working great. Hooked up my torque pro program and bluetooth adapter to monitor the temps. It is 104 here today and the temps were running between 197 ad 199 down the road and up to 206 while idling. Not too bad! No leaks other than the ac condesation!

Cool! The 206 idle temp seems a bit high to me for 104 ambient, but excellent job getting it all back together.

I can't recall what the thermostat is in these. After dark but still in the upper 90's and it was running right around 195.

After a sleepless night at the station I came home and spent labor day playing with the Lexus. Got the CDL switch installed, the 7 pin mod done, installed a new console (thanks Delancy on the shipping), and repaired the passenger side power seat. Also got to tune up the 4Runner. Nice day of doing what I wanted to!

Its a great feeling having the big stuff out of the way.... addressing the small stuff is somewhat enjoyable after a big job like that! Now you just need to supercharge it!
