RENNtech's Build

Initially, I was set on an LS swap. Then, I decided to just stay stock and rebuild the 2F. After a lot more back and forth and tons of research, I ended up getting a great deal on custom built LQ9 6.0 long block rated at 440hp. It's basically, an iron block LS2.

Now, before any hardcore gear heads jump on me, I know there are a few subtle differences between the two motors (cam/knock sensor location, reluctor wheels, etc.) but none of which bother me other than the extra weight of the iron block. However, with the cash I saved up front, I'll have a little extra gas money for down the road and I'm sure I'll need it.

Unfortunately, with all the back and forth BS on my part, my buddy doing the install, now has a shop full of cars so, my rig is at the back of the line. He did send me some pics of my assembled motor that arrived at his shop earlier this week. He's a great mechanic but not such a good photographer.

Anyways, the ball is finally rolling so, future problems are sure to follow.

Who's doing the swap if you don't mind? Just curious to see where the cruiserheads near me are hiding.

Yeah... that has the CHUB FACTOR...

I'll be expecting that old power plant.. HA!

Metal 4 Motor. . . . . That's my new moto =)

He's just a good buddy of mine with a small shop in Brandon, FL. He's definitely no cruiserhead but he is as good of an LS/Corvette mechanic as there is. He's worked on a lot of my high horsepower cars so, the motor swap itself will be a piece of cake. It's the rest of the stuff that needs to be done to it when I get it home that worries me. . . . lol
