Probably not, but that's the logic that I'm using on my wife for the next $5K or so.

For me, the best convincer was taking my wife with me to Ouray...where my 200 looked comparatively mild next to fully built beasts like those driven by @MScruiser, @Willy beamin, @Canyonero & others. Scratching up my bumpers didn't hurt either. ;)

Frankly though...that aspect didn't occur to me until we were there. She loved the scenery and the trip. Made it fun...and really motivated her to look forward to more.

Yup, hoping to try that approach this summer in Breck.

@Markuson I was thinking just that. The E load LT tires are making the stock suspension feel like my ford explorer. What suspension should I go with? I'm used to seeing bp51 getting all of the praise and am leaning toward that. I'll do the UCA as well. I want my well controlled suspension back.

Hey Redbull,

If you're talking about the bouncy stuff... At least on my 200, it was still bouncing after putting KO2's while it still had stock suspension. But once I swapped out to BP's, the bouncy/bounding stuff was gone. On the BP-51's...I'm a fan. They handle amazingly well in ALL conditions--especially at SPEED on bumpy dirt. -Wow! BUT...ARB (OME) is currently in a revision phase that addresses several possible issues with BPs. Once that update is done, I think you can confidently grab them and you'll be very pleased. But man, there are tons of other nice setups too. @Willy beamin Beamin just gave a very nice report on his Icons. @kreiten has been happy with his setup, and others like Kings. Kings, Icons and BP-51 are all pricey... but I was very happy with just the standard Old Man Emu setup that was on my 100 & they were a massive improvement over stock. You can do those for less than half the cost of Old Man Emu BP-51's and they run great.

Other here have far more variety of experience... I've only run OME setup, the BP-51 setup, and of course stock. Just about any upgrade that's properly set up is going to blow away stock though.

Ordered all the parts for my lift!

Icon stage 2
SPC UCA's
OME 2721 springs

Huge thanks to @kreiten and @Markuson for answering my questions. The search tool on this forum rocks I found so many answers this way.

Here are some threads I used as reference:

Kreiten's Ironman suspension thread

Ironman Foamcellpro installed

@Willy beamin 50k mile review of his Icon stage 4

50,000+ miles on Icons

How did I decide on the springs?

I searched for people comparing OME 2722's and 23's. I was almost dead set on the 2722's and then I saw Markuson mentioned using 2721's and getting a level lift. The pictures helped immensely too.

2722 or 2723

Lift suggestions? 2721 vs 2722

Why Icon?

I didn't want to shy away from the maintenance and also it's a bit of a college thing. When I was younger I would read in magazines about Icon lifts and always dreamed of having a truck with one. Similar as to why I have white lettering out on my BFG KO2's haha. And after reading WillyBeamin's report I decided they will likely live up to my dream.

I strongly considered the Ironman lift for it's simplicity and good results from Kreiten and others.

Awesome! So glad you found the help you needed. Thanks for the post-game report, too! It's fun to see your process of deciding. This really is a great forum, and I love how you referenced the things you found via search. Don't forget to post up some pics along the way. We love photos--whether mundane or exciting.

Congrats on the new ride, it looks great. I've been searching the forum and have found that the most people ( tire database) say 275/70/18's BFG's do not rub on a stock LC. Did you experience any rubbing?

I've got about 800 miles on them and haven't noticed any rubbing. According to Kreiten he says there is a slight rub when wheels are full lock to the right. If so, I haven't noticed because I'm rarely at full lock and when I am it is at low speed.

You get about .8" lift from the tires which was welcome. I'll have to go for 2" on the lift so it's not too high.

Delay on the parts for the lift :(

In the meantime enjoy this pic

Lift will be installed tomorrow! And Slee Sliders sometime next week!

I'm so excited. When I got the call from the shop I literally jumped for joy.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the Icon's once you have them on.

Quick pic! First impressions to come soon.

Not a good pic but this 275/70/18 really filled up the front wheel well stock - not anymore!

I've got about 300 miles on the setup now.

Summed up in one word: Composed.

It feels like a Porsche and possibly what people say Mclarens feel like. The ride quality may not be the standard definition of comfortable, but it feels like pavement irregularities or off-roading won't throw the suspension off. Try entering a driveway with some verve in a stock Landcruiser or regular car and it's all over the place, with the Icon's it calms everything down and gets on with it.

While I said it's not totally comfortable, it has eliminated about 80% of the few ride issues with the KO2's. I can only imagine how this thing drives with some passenger tires.

On the highway it really shines, the setup just does not get out of its depth. I absolutely love my setup and I would highly recommend it.

Any new thoughts on the suspension since February? I'm looking at the exact same set up on my 2015 but was thinking of doing a 285/65R18 KO2 instead. I'm just about to hit 25k on mine and will probably need tires for the winter, planning on doing suspension at the same time. I have no plans for bumpers in the future would just like to get it up in the air a little more and eliminate the nose dive during breaking. Just curious.

Suspension is a dream. I've got almost 16k miles on the setup now. It feels planted and controls the heavy KO2 tires with aplomb. 285/65/18 is a nice size, I park next to an LC that has tires that size doesn't look bad.

I don't go offroad but I drive in just about every paved road condition (major cities and open highways split about 50/50 of the mileage). This suspension setup doesn't get flustered and I feel much more confident making an emergency maneuver than with the stock setup.

Got this to complement my Toyota's legendary reliability :D

Why didn't I get a GS-F?

1. I have a GS350
2. I get 300 miles range city cycle and Lexus stupidly didn't increase the gas tank size. I think a lot of LC owners can understand this one :)
3. I miss having truly colossal power

I took delivery of the car knowing it's Air conditioning was on its last legs. Will be an interesting ownership haha.
