Coming along. The turbo kit install is all but finished.

This is absolutely the last example of my idea of down pipe heat wrap! I’ve been through more than I posted. This was the most difficult step of the turbo kit install for me.

Time to geter done ;)

Starting to think I need to register my 80 at your place so I can resume my turbo dreams.

Have you not noticed how slowly this project is moving? I’m looking forward to the coming months of rain and the garage time it brings.

Fan clutch fun! This is a brand new Aisin clutch. If this is how much oil they put in it I have to ask myself if 45ml is too much. I won’t mod the timing but go in with 20k oil. Well, ok, I’ll check the timing but I don’t think.

opening the clutch early is a good thing. It’s timed with the thermostat ideally.

In line 6 before the V 8.

Finally landed on some Cruiser time. New belts and fan install. The power steering cooler sits precariously above its future and permanent home.

After all this work I hope it runs !!

My...what a BIG saw you have there. That's a serious size chain saw.

I just saw the 1FZ-FTE pun sticker, very cool. T for Turbo.

That engine compartment is prestine. Almost to clean...like museum clean...almost a shame to get it dirty.

Looking good there

I bought that saw in August to cut up a large Douglas fir that I had professionals fall. I will probably never use it again so I sold it the other day. It’s a Stihl MS 881, the biggest power head they make. The bar that’s on it is tiny for it. I could have use a 48” bar but I managed with the 36”.

Believe me when I tell you that engine compartment will be dirty one day.

I’m off work for 20 days so the last three days were a full on attack all day deal. I’ve been doing brake lines and other tedious tasks that show little visual progress but do provide the knowledge that I’m getting past tasks I was not looking forward to.

The modifications are what makes it tedious trying to fit things in a whole new manner.

I have to say these Toyota hoses are of impressive quality and precise fit which means super tight to the point that a clamp may not be necessary.

Much to my dismay, yesterday learned that my sliders need major mods to work on this 96. I knew the passenger side had different cat protection but even the driver side legs don’t jive. Fabricating new sliders will be a fun project.

1993-1994 sliders for sale good deal…..

With respect to the coolant inlet hose; when I welded in the support gusset I could only estimate how large to make it bc I knew the inlet pipe also lived there. I’m happy with the out come.
