I just did this the other day!, I love my reclining second row, now my daughters head doesn't fall forward when she sleeps in the truck

FWIW, I welded mine back together. I used various drill bits to get the rivets out. I drilled the Three for the main bracket out from the BACK, not the front as shown in this writeup. I figured if I was going to weld them, id rather weld to a bigger piece. Obviously, I drilled the gear part out from the front and just welded them up. Cutoff wheel took care of the stop pin fine.

Best part is, I bought a spare 3rd Row for $50.... so my 3rd row still reclines!! Im super happy with this mod. Thanks Nakman!!! thanks to you, my front row moves back and forth, and my 2nd row gets busy!

I need to study this mod some more, but has anyone notched the gear so that 2nd row 'reclines' FORWARD as well?? I have a sleeping setup for the back between my drawers and 2nd row folded down, and it would be great to be able to adjust the forward angle of the 2nd row seats, which would enable me to sit more upright while lying down in the back.

also can I safely perform this mod if I don't weld them? I don't have access to welding tools (or skills : ).

thanks for the thread!
