I have realized that I suffer the same affliction with my awesome ..

She does not like me working on my rig on the driveway, for noise and appearances in front of the neighbors, and for all the cussing I usually do. In our 2-car garage, we also have our laundry machines, so that sometimes is a problem with the also. She hates the smell of gas, especially when she's exercising in the garage!

So I, more-or-less, also have a 1-car garage space for my rig. Wow, fabulous welding and fabrication! I'm catching up on this thread from the beginning!!



ps.. unbeknownst to the .. I just bought myself a welder for Father's Day.. HAHAHAHA!!

Thanx Folkert, it is a little different from your build but mine will get paint to, I hope. Your's is looking fantastic, I would like to see it in person once.

They are the best, but also a little difficult to live with. But I couldn't do without her so I have to live with these little things.
Luckilly my doesn't mind me buying stuff for the cruiser, I just tell her I need it to finish a bit sooner, her hobby does cost more than mine (so far).

That's awesome! I've done that before myself. What kind of welder did you end up getting?

Got some cruisertime in.
Started with the crossbeam, made an endplate and 2 plates for the cut out. Not able to upload pictures so they will come tomorrow with the rest of the progress.

Endplate plus reinforcement frontside rear fender.
Modification of the crossbeam.
Welding is getting better as you can see.

Then trying to find out the best way to copy the left fender to the right and an easyer way to build it.
Finaly decided to start from the B pillar.

Which leads to this, taking the left side to copy.

Next step, lining up upper and lower part and fill in the gap.
Then cut off the excess material.

Then finish up on the welds.

After that some cleaning, bracing, welding, grinding an cleaning.
Then the day was over and the called me for dinner so more to come next week.

My is half Dutch. My mother in law lives here in the States but still, after 20 years, has a thick accent.

so I guess more than anyone else on this board I know what your wife is like as far as the Dutch part goes!!

My is also a big horse lover......now I know which side of the family it's from!!!!

Yep got the downside today, called, little one has a soar foot. "You have to come now" so there goes the afternoon. And of corse the little lady walking on three feet so vet and blacksmith had to come. It looks like its going to be oke but we have to wait for about 3 days.
Not shure about the collor yet, thinking of FJC yelow but I like the blue too.
