I really hate to pay shipping. On Amoron I have a list of stuff I keep in stock - I need to order something today - I pick something from my list to get the order to free shipping.
I too have a bookmark page LandCruiser. Vids on repair, parts, manuals, vendors... have one for the F150 and the 4 wheeler too
When I get my new W11 laptop soon, I'll sub-organize the marks to make it easier to find stuff.

Some of the shipping costs are just way to high. I hate ordering small items from SOR and try to keep the values in balance. Don't need to pay $20 for the right size bolts that are around $1.

Scotty Kilmer just did a segment on counterfeit parts. The Aviation folks went threw that several times with fake bolts in the supply chain.

I got everything from Toyota Matt while I was in Houston, plus a fuel door lock from City Racer for a back up.
Yesterday I dropped off the old and new ignition switches at the local Toyota dealer and chatted with the mechanic so that he can switch the plugs from the 4 wire to the 5 wire so I can plug the new one to the wiring harness under the dash. He asked for semantics for the for the 1978 and something that would show the diesel glow ignition switch. So I dropped them off this morning.

Finally got some ambition to go out and finish the fuel line and other things before it got to hot. At least it is not humid but the temps and humidity are working against us and we have fires close by. A Chinook was flying over to ferry water to the Bull Lake fire.

First I installed the right fuel door lock from Toyota Matt and he informed me that it was modified so that it is spring loaded and a different bar. It works and that is what is important. He provided gaskets for the bezel and body so got that in place with the spring clip to hold in place.

Made up that last fittings for the hose barbs to connect to the -8 AN return line to the pump. I also got another O-ring to put inside the threaded fitting to go along with the external O-ring.

Removed the white plastic plug from the pump returned and connected the return hose.

Used the winch to roll the RJ40 forward to work behind it and the wench stopped rewinding so had the coil it up and tie it off. Seems to be an electrical issue because it will unwind but not wind and I was trying to clean up the birds nest on the drum and it stopped working. Have a remote and solenoid coming. It quite when I was trying to clean up the birds nest on the drum.
I also found out when I called Mile Maker they don't make the 15.5K anymore.

Installed the new tail lights and these don't have screws that thread into the welded nuts on the frame but just nuts on studs. The nut on the outside is easy to get to but the one inboard there is just enough room to get your hand in to thread the nut on blind. Then I had to use my 1/4" drive ratchet and 12mm socket also blind. Toyota Matt sent shipping brackets to drop the tail lights under the frame so anyone following could see them better and then put them back in the frame for off road. NO WAY am I going to mess with those inboard nuts just for that. Once I had the RS mounted I double checked that I had it on the right side and not have to do it again, got it right so continued on.

Installed the HD rock shields on back side but was only able to use the outboard bolts not the 2 inboard bolts because the holes don't line up. But they seen very secure and stout so should not be and issue.

where did you get those tail lights. or was it just a LED bulb set.

From Toyota Matt but ordered them back in May and he just kept blowing me off then finally shipped them with the LED bulbs and the fuel door lock that he put off shipping also.

I got 8 hose separators that said they were for -8 AN from AN Hose Fittings.com that Charlie Meyer showed me. I thought that they would have just a small amount of compression on the hoses to stay in place but they have a lot of clearance.

Used 3 to keep the hoses separate here

Used the last one for both the -6 and -8 AN hoses at the filter

I need to use tywraps to keep them in place.

Got the badge mount and ran to town to get shorter screws washers and nuts to attach to the mesh of the grill then mounted the Turbo badge to the grill.

Getting a tuner has aways been in my plan for the R2.8 and have been told there used to be tunes for 200 hp and 400 lb feet of torque but the EPA put a stop to that. The clock is running out on my warranty from Cummins and have not had first fire yet.

There is fueling box that has been out for while that has better hp numbers and does improve the torque, not as much as my goal was but I will take it. Especially if it improves clutch engagement torque. When I road in a FJ60 in MT that was distressing when the clutch and throttle needed to be feathered. Never seen that with a diesel and manual before. So I pulled the trigger today.

I placed the order on Sunday and it is already in Denver and was notified of the duty fee of $70.04 and had 5 days to pay. Should show up in the next couple of days from Denver.

I ordered the computer mounting plate from Quick Draw and have not seen any movement on that order yet.

Rechecked the tracking and Denver was just the payment center for the duty payment. As of today the package left Cincinnati, OH headed to Denver and will be delivered next Tuesday. Which is fine I am not home and the cattle should be gone and the Wife wont have to open and close the gate to get to the mail box.

Last night I did some checking and comparison of the performance ratings available with the new tuner and it is on parity with the Toyota 2.8 diesel used in the latest 70 series available in OZ.

The tuner made it to Denver yesterday and DHL handed it off to USPS and yesterday it said it would be delivered Friday. I just got notified it was out for delivery this morning.

We still have cattle in the area and keeping gate closed and the Wife will have to got to the mail box today if the postal worker cant fit it in the box.

I down loaded the data and graph for the tuner. The engagement torque increases and comes on at a lower RPM. So should be able to launch better and not have to feather the clutch and throttle like I saw when I went for a ride in a FJ60 up in Montana. My axle gearing is also lower then the FJ60.

The Toyota Mechanic from Fremont Toyota in Lander sent me a photo of converting the 5 wire glow ignition switch with the 4 wire plug and the glow wire separate for hooking up to the heating grid. He asked that I take a photo of the plug under the dash where it plugs into the harness.
