While the end result (ability to access the roofrack) is the same, there are some significant differences in the designs.
On the OEM version (I'm assuming the ladder is actually a Toyota product) the bottom rung of the ladder is much lower
(good for old folks like me), the ladder and associated brackets actually squeezes the top and bottom of the door and doesn't require any drilling into the exterior of the door.

This is a long shot, especially on such an old thread, but do you have a part number on this ladder? I ask because I have not seen this square-tubing style ladder anywhere else. I like it a LOT.

Sorry, I sold that Cruiser nearly 4 years ago. I can tell you that it was on the vehicle when it was imported.

Perhaps you could have a good machine shop fabricate a duplicate.
