Rear fender trim with lots of pictures

As amaxing as the rest of this has been, why not mod the flare to allow the door to open, but add the little flare piece to the door so the lines all match.... super bonus style points for that.

Well I decided to go the difficult route and took 30 minutes out of my day to mark, trim and begin fiberglassing the cut out in the driver rear flare to accommodate the fuel door. I guess we will just have to wait and see how this debacle turns out.

You definitely took more time in trimming yours than i did, but it looks great! I taped mine off and just went to town with an air saw on the body, and a sawzall on my 4x4labs rear bumper. It's amazing how much has to be cut to fit 40's on these things.

Great work on the flares, but why? You're going to pop them off eventually.
Haven't torn one off yet and I've drug them across trees sawn out of the trail and embankments on 8ft tall narrow drop offs where I was dragging on both sides. All the way down. I even demolished the bottom 8" of the driver side rear with my tire fully stuffed. But they were on until I took them off. I just hope they hold up as well as the originals. And the why behind it is solely because I can and I don't enjoy attention from the police.

Springfield cops must be the proverbial bears. Up North the police never paid mind to either of my flareless 80's. Even when one was sitting on 38's with a good 6" of tire sticking out the side.

Nah, springfield PD is awesome. It's the smaller towns I drive through on the way to trails that seem to be drawn to me lol. I'm lucky enough that I don't get tickets, but I'm sure keeping the flares and flaps has played a part in that.

I'm telling ya man, your prob golden anywhere in Lane Co :-)

EPD, SPD and the Sheriffs Dept prob all think it's still my rig rolling around town ;-)

Alright here are the results of my final fiberglass work. Now I just have to buy new gasket material for the flares and buy and apply monstaliner. As soon as that's done I will post up pictures of the finished product.

Very cool, nice job sir.

Thanks guys, I have to say that this project went way smoother and turned out substantially nicer than I thought it would. I had no Idea going into this that it would turn out so nice. I figured if I messed it up too bad that I would just make it look as decent as I could. For somebody with no real sheet metal experience and no experience welding such thin material I did ok. I would feel comfortable calling this one a :banana: Job. It's more time and planning and patience than skill. I will post up pics as soon as it is monstalined reassembled.

Uh oh! All this waiting to order my Monstaliner has me researching other stuff. Now I'm strongly considering U-pol Raptor tintable or Al's liner and custom tint. If you have experience with Raptor or Al's let me know the good/bad.

Drooling!!!! Superb job!!!

Well, I decided to go with monstaliner in white. I have all the flares stripped off and have some minor repair to the driver front flare, passenger front fender and liner and front passenger door just at the lower body line of the door, it had a crease there when I bought it that I want to get out before I line it. Nothing I can do to the rest of the door where I was tree hugging lol. Then it's all prep work. Hopefully have it done by the second week of November.

Monstaliner scheduled to arrive on November 10, Semper Fidelis! I will be celebrating the United States Marine Corps 239th Birthday by Monstalining my cruiser. I will probably spend Veterans Day Nov 11th reassembling the body and cleaning up.

Alright, I got the cruiser lined in white Monstaliner on the bottom third of the doors and around the fender wells. It looks like Sh@t. The monstaliner itself is awesome looking, the rest of my white land cruiser looks more like a tan sand color in contrast. So, spraying the whole truck in UPol raptor with toyota 045 white is definitely in the cards for the future.

Where are the pics or it didn't happen...

But seriously I want to see this stance with 2.5 BS!

Pics will happen when I have the time to reassemble the dang thing. Going to try and get it out of the garage by the end of he weekend. You saw my cruiser with the 2.5 BS at lithia.
