Rear Diff Spider Gear

Installing rear diff and got the two side gears in and slid one spider gear and thrust washer in place. Inserted center pin to hold first spider gear in place. Now because of the rotation of the side gears, just can't get the other spider gear to slide in.

What is the trick or am I making this too difficult?

Forget the thrust washers for now...


Get one spider gear in and rotate both side gears the same amount and install the other spider 180 out from the first one, and rotate the whole thing back into place.

Then install the thrust washers.


You will get it....just mess with it a bit.

Thanks Poser....went back out in shop and realized I had to do exactly what you just explained.. and they both rotated right in place.
