Hi,

Is there a way to separate the dust shield from the plate that bolts to the axle? There looks to be 4 or maybe 6 pins that hold the dust plate on. Maybe they can be pressed out than back in. I’m restoring a rusty 80 axle for my build and I want to get this part to clean up and paint/por15.

See stock image. 4 silver pins and 2 black pins.

It’ll come apart. But it won’t go back together. Those are like giant rivets and the pin that the shoes pivot on is even bigger and pressed through it all. I cut mine down to just the caliper bracket and deleted ABS sensors and parking brake. I’d just penny up for the reproduction ones and be done with it. It’s a chore.

$550!? Blyme!

Check @TRAIL TAILOR

Less than 400 for a new pair shipped, I believe

Drill out the pins and than weld them back on when done?
