So I know a few of you guys dabble in sports car type stuff so I figured here is a good place to post this. For the second time I’ll be doing Brock Yates One Lap of America this year. For those not in the know, this is what the cannonball run turned into. Instead of racing coast to coast we drive all over the county, the distance of the total loop is roughly going coast to coast. We drive from race track to race track, and the only thing that counts is times at the track, not how fast you make it to the track. Some of the transit runs are long/boring/brutal in a car with super stiff suspension, race seats, minimal noise deadening, etc. but it’s a total blast. Sadly I won’t be racing as I’m hired as a transit driver, and I’m not very skillful on a racetrack. I was lucky enough to get picked to join due to a small role I played in building the cars and my knowledge of VW’s. Here’s a pic of this years route and the cars we took back in 2016. I leave May 3rd, and believe me I’ll have plenty of pics.
