Sooooooo, got some minor scars from Moab last week, wonder if it is time to join the black wheel club... :hmm: :flipoff2:

I'd just leave em.

I have some of the same marks from last week. I have often contemplated painting or powder coating the rims.... However, after seeing the scrapes, I often worry how ghetto they will look after touching up with paint....then again how ghetto does it look now..... I still cant decide! I would love to just go with a set of the Hutchinson Rock Monsters.... If I could justify the cost...

If they looked ghetto they would be chrome and have a spinning do da in the center :)

Think of them as beauty marks.

So...... the hundy will be on it's 4th day at Toyota. Had a bad grinding, squeeling noise coming from the rear with a clanging sound whenever I hit something on the road (bridge expansion joints). Especially noisy/grinding at odd angles (Moab) and in reverse (Loud heard it in Moab). First time I took it in, tech could not find anything, said brakes were dirty (yea, ok). It is not my daily driver anymore, so last time I had it out, same noises... Took it back into Toyota on Monday night and drove with the tech so they knew what I was talking about. Now get a call today, rear driver caliper bolt is missing, backing plate is bent. Caliper bolt is on back order and, oh guess what, we found.... more missing parts... WTF!!! Had the brakes done at all 4 corners less than 10k ago. Standing by for final a$$ rape tomorrow... How the hell does a backing plate get bent and why during the last brake inspection were my brakes only "dirty"??????????????????????????????????

Update: $350.00

if they were to remake those beasts...

if they were to remake the 100 / 105

what would you want toyota to change ?

kdss on a 100 would be sweet

bigger diffs , stronger similar to NISSAN PATROL diffs .

the v8 twin turbo in the 200 on the 100s would be epic .

....

i really wish they still made the 100/105 , by far my favorite of the land cruiser models .

Separate climate controls from nav

- Cloth interior for the US. (I have only seen one so I think the dude imported it from another country).
- Diesel model for the US.
- Supercharger option for the US.
- OZ version of the intake air filter for the US.
- A little less bulge on the rear.
- Common main wiring harness for all models (so I could rip out my NAV panel and replace it with a double DIN HU and manual climate control knobs).

SFA (100) and 9/10 of the current size

  • strengthen the front diff,
  • make the dealerships more accountable for servicing (at least here in Oz)
  • educate the dealerships better (quite often they have NFI to what we know)
  • introduce newer tech (including engines) worldwide, instead of lying about why the 4.7L VVTI engine was not introduced to Oz in the 100 series/LX470, but was everywhere else
  • explain why the 5.7L V8 wasnt available in the 200 series in Oz, but here we got the 4.7L VVTI instead (unless you bought the LX570)
  • explain why the LX570 here in Oz is $170,000+ (more likely $180k) when the same car in the USA similarly optioned is "only" $72,000 ish ($AUD) even with our f'ing high $AUD
and i could go on and on and on!!

The first two relates to the 2003->
3 rotary climate controls
Stndrd 2-din cutout for HU
Faster AHC
Sliders as oem option
Remove those ugly side mouldings
Seats for taller folks (I'm only 6'3, and they are nearly sa bad as airplane seats)
Better rust protection, like stainless underbody
