Now I can't remember what middle setting I set each of them at. I'm sure it needs some adjustment though and I'll get it sorted tomorrow. I'm beat though after a long day at work then yard work before playing with the rack and need to get to bed.

Thanks though for the pictures, I referenced them when I was putting things together and they helped remind me about the silicone and washing my rig. I guess I should wax it tomorrow too.....I hate waxing.

Not sure exactly what you're looking for but hopefully these helpIt's a little dark out

Yea that's what I was looking for. I am thinking about getting the drop bakery in the center and was curious the clearance. Didn't know if the whole rack would have to be raised in order to run the drop bakery or not.

I also wanted to see how much room between the spoiler and the rack there was.

So have you tried to mount the RTT up there yet? From the looks of mine (finished installing last night) its going to be a VERY tight fit for my fat fingers.

I haven't yet, but plan to tomorrow evening. It does seem like its going to be a very tight squeeze. I'm hoping the bolts will be very close to the side edges of the rack so it will be easier to access from the sides. My awning probably won't make it any easier though.

Good luck man! It took me a while to get it lined up but I'm also a perfectionist and have to have everything measure perfectly true.

I also cut new slots in my gutter liner to accommodate the new mounts. I don't think I would do that again. I would just remove the liner and keep it off. The issue with new holes is that it will trap water between the gutter and the liner now that it's not sealed like it was with the stock mounts which have rubber feet.
Do you plan on keeping the wing on? When I get my rack in I am thinking about removing it on the LX.

I plan on keeping it unless it gets in the way. It has yet to do that, so it stays for now. Anyways, I'm not a fan of it, but I'm also not a fan of having random bolts left over and losing my 3rd brake light.

understand completely. I envision it getting in the way when I am sliding gear on and off roof (specifically when my cargo area is full and I have weapons cases on roof). keep me posted

I pulled my wing off a couple months ago and am rocking two holes still from the rivets. I haven't figured out what I'm going to do with them still but I've got to figure something out before winter for sure. I tried to find some rubber plugs but the couple things I bought didn't work out.

Make sure you plug them up before it rains. I would put the bolts back in until you can find a solution.

I do have the upper bolts in but I pulled off the rivets that have a plastic sort of stabilizer on them as well. I shouldn't have but didn't know I was going to have as much of a problem plugging them as I have.

I figured I'd update this since its been a while.

In the past few months I've added a Tepui Autuna Sky tent, built an attic/dog net, and installed a hot water shower system.

Here is the tent set up at the lake:

Here is the net I built. I used 1" webbing and made some brackets from 1/4" square tube and 1" flat bar:

Then I added power to the tent. I already had power running to my awning so I tapped into that and ran a wire to the tent. So far the tent has 2 LED strips, each have their own switch, and a 5 USB pod towards the head of the tent for charging phones. Heres the lights without the annex:

And inside the tent in the dark:

The lights definitely added a "homey" feel. Its nice too having the annex light so if you need to get up and get dressed in the middle of the night to go out, you can turn on just the annex light while the SO stays in the dark up the ladder. Its also helpful when showering at night.

That leads to my Helton hot water shower. I made a thread for it specifically which can be searched for. I used the helton hot water exhanger, 3/8" hose, a bidet temp regulator, and a shurflo RV water pump. Check the other thread for specifics. Heres a quick video I made of the system:

Next project I'm working on is building a mount for my traction jacks to act as a wind fairing for the tent. Hopefully that will help with the MPG's a bit.

Great build! Any thoughts on the tent? Currently in the market. Definitely will be checking out your thread on the Helton shower too. There are certain things my wife is unwilling to live without.

Thanks!

We really like the tent. There are a few annoying things about it though. Namely the velcro straps that hold the two halves and the cover on. The velcro is very poor quality and after about 6 trips, it no longer can hold more than maybe a pound. I replaced the cover straps with plastic buckles and plan to do the same with the straps that hold the halves together. Its small, but when you spend nearly 2k on something, you expect it to be pretty damn perfect. Theres other things too, like holes in the cover already and the ends of seams tearing slightly. Its nothing I cant fix and maintain though. When buying a tent, keep in mind there all pretty much the same. Ive seen about 2 different brands of tents that are identical to our Tepui minus small features.

Spent the weekend at the lake again. The GF and I love the lights in the tent and the shower. Really takes the edge off of camping!

Interested in more details on your Helton hot water install. I did watch the video however curious as to your complete parts list? I bought my Helton from Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters > 1 year ago and have yet to install it! Along with my Safari Snorkel and back-up camera relocation kit purchased from Slee. Easy to make the time to buy the stuff, hard to find the time to install it....

So whats next for your build? I want to know you're going to make me add to my list...

Ha! Im currently trying to figure out a fairing idea for the tent. I made one for my traction jacks that goes up if the tents on, then folds down when off. I'm not super happy with the way it looks though so I think I'm going to scrap the idea.

Once I figure out the fairing, I need to do some lightibg which involves creating an overhead switch pod and what I dread most, wiring.

Then hopefully ben will be close to finishing up my rear bumper and I'm also brain storming ways to get a fridge and water tank for showers in the place of the smaller rear seat half.

I forgot you were on the list for a rear bumper. I'm still trying to decide if I want to try and scratch build some drawers or just save the $$$ and purchase a set. I ended up modding my trailer this week to add cross bars so I can mount my tent on that for a trip this weekend. Its not that I'm done mounting it on the roof, its just that with my one year old I think it'll be more smooth to get going in the morning to make the trail meeting time if I don't have to stow the roof mounted tent.

Is the RTT fairing for wind noise or mileage? I really haven't noticed a change with mine mounted but I do remove it between trips.

You should get a set of the kiss drawers and mod them to your liking. That's probably what I would do, or just rip off the design and try to do it slightly cheaper.

We eventually want to get a trailer for the tent. It is a pain folding it up each morning just to leave camp. It would be nice to be able to leave it popped and come back to it. Right now we have 0 room for a trailer though.
