In my search for new front seats for the 55, I've been focusing on those with integrated shoulder belts. I realize if I were to open up my search to those without shoulder belts integrated the choices go up and cost down. I'm not familiar with the B pillar enough to know what access is available.

When I did the interior of a 1953 3100, I was able to lower shoulder belt anchors via coat hanger into the pillar from above, then weld into place. Does the 55 provide similar access?

Thanks.

That's exactly what I was looking for! I will go out and study access from below. I did that exact same thing from above on a 53 pickup. Thank you.

I also moved mine there they are perfect. Also a better seat belt selection if you go with after market belts , Just try to find the long ones out of a 55 that are in good condition and work, mine are out of a older ford pickup good luck you will like that setup

Bringing this thread up from the depths. Looking forward to working on the interior of our 1972 FJ55 and I am likely going to put in buckets from Corbeau with some heaters and their frame. Looking to add shoulder belts to the works. I am planning on pulling the headliner so welding in some seat belt anchors isn't a big deal once I am in there. Has anyone been down this road before? Suggestions? Advice?
