Is it something major?

On the front diff, left side has a needle bearing to support the axle, if it fails, you get a nasty/random shimmy. ECGS makes a teflon coated brass bushing that fixes it. That's what's on the way.

I have already gotten delivery confirmation for Wednesday. That's encouraging.

I'll keep my fingers crossed

I replaced the left side in my tundra with one of those brass deals from East coast. Worked perfect. Done a few on customers tundra and Tacomas too. There's a sweet Toyota tool to pull it right out without even removing the seal

I went ahead and ordered the removal and the install tool. And new seal as well.
Watched a video, once the axle is out (45 minutes) the bushing should only take bout 30 minutes.

But thanks for the positive encouragement, Rome.

I found if you take out the 2 bolts that hold the front of the diff, you get about an extre inch of movement that helps in axle replacement.

Parts did arrive today.
Results posted tomorrow.
Please include pics with a dial indicator showing how much up/down axle movement you have with the old bearing vs the new bushing

Forgot to draw picture.
Can change the 1/2 shaft in 30 minutes now though.
New bushing installed, wibble/wobble is fixed!!

Woot, and Woot again.

On the 240 mile round trip yesterday, my shimmy came back at certain speeds.
Not near as bad .
Steering rack bushings going in today.

As well as an adjustment to the rack.

Less than 4 full days of work, unfortunately for me they are out of town. Loaded the 80 this weekend, changed the oil, and finalized my fridge wiring. Just need to hit the store for food and drink on Thursday when I get home, and we are ready to roll out Friday morning.

Woot, for Joe.

I am not ready.

Will be ready.

Only 2 work days for me until Friday morn.
I'm off today and tomorrow.

4runner should be good to go. Needs oil change and half doors installed. Tundra/tent should be ready too. I should get a spare for the trailer since the last one made off with my braket and stake pocket on the toll road and hasn't been seen since.

Someone scored that day.

Parts came in wrong.
Correct label, wrong part.
New one on the way from Amazon, be here Wednesday.
If this doesn't fix it, I'll have to pack light and try the mini....

I don't think the alignment centric is supposed to do that.
