Rob, Is there anything you can do to be allowed to drive faster? I know they limited you on these runs.
Yes, Full door net attached to the inside of the roll cage ( their worried about the door coming off ) , engine compartment and cab fire suppression system, inertia fuel shut off system, exterior remote kill switch, they wanted all the roll bar gussets welded to the out side of the bars, NASCAR style helmet side panels, rear helmet panel attached to the roll cage. I have a SFI 5 race suit must be 10 or more of wear full Nomex under garment under my suit. I have a list and I'm forgetting a few things. Completely different rule book from Bonneville. I am finding out Utah Salt Flats Racing association ( Bonneville ) and the Southern California Timing association ( El Mirage ) have a very different view when it comes to the 45.

Interesting that they want all of those safety precautions on a gas powered vehicle that won’t break 100 mph🤷🏻‍♂️

Not Yet LOL What's Crazy is having a 100 to 1000 CC Motorcycle next to us basically wearing leathers, knee pads and a helmet approved to go over 150 MPH SCTA Rules are written for people out to break records. They gave me the opportunity to run the 45 and receive an official timing slip. Like everything we else we have done from The MINT 400, King of the Hammers, Bonneville, local races and now El Mirage just making it to the start line is a Win.

Roger that! You are setting records though. I’m sure you’re the fastest FJ45 on record at both events 😉😊😎

That's a wrap for now. We will be a the Terrain Tamer Cruiser show and Toy drive December 6th in Stockton with the 45. I am not saying we are done racing, its been Crazy thinking about what we have accomplished in the last 3 years. I started this thread September 2022 reading some of my old post I can still re live some of the stress, pain and anxiety of getting the 45 finished for one race or another LOLOL. I have had a ton of help and support and its been on hell of a journey.

Never in my life could I have imagined all those years ago when I walked into the Rusty Nail campsite where life would take us. I don't have the words to express how grateful I am for everything I have experienced, learned and been apart of. No I'm not dying. I received this video from our friends at Bradley Wheels. February 2023 we were on the lakebed at KOH trying to get ready for the MINT 400. 3 years later what we built, races we shared, was being shown during the 2026 Toyko Auto Salon in Chiba, Japan. Thank you to all our Sponsors, Supporters Family and Team Rusty Nail racing

I was informed via email from Bradley Wheels and 4X4 Engineering that our FJ45 was a big hit at the 2026 Toyko Auto Salon. I am blown away over the attention we received. They told me in 3 days over 250K flyers and promotional news papers were passed out featuring the 45 on the front page. Crazy
