Those are older pick tags that the Parts Distribution Centers used..I thought they were all phased out already.

Where are you located if you don't mind that I ask?

I went to Discount Tire today and got all five of my Falken Rocky Mountain ATS tires mounted. (285/75-16). Based on comments posted in the Falken Rocky Mountain ATS tire thread in the 80 section, I had them filled to 50 PSI. The first thing thing I noticed was how quite they are compared to the 265 Michelins they replaced. Slighly more effort required to turn from stop or very slow speed but nothing major. It was pouring rain the the vehicle felt very confident at all speeds.

I think the San Ramon, CA PDC still uses those.

Today's plan...
1) replace hood struts
2) replace plugs
3) replace distributor cap
4) replace rotor
5) replace plug wires
6) flush engine
7) oil & filter change
All OEM parts. ;)

Here's what actually happened today:
1) hood struts replaced. I can now work under the hood without a prop rod nor fear of being bashed in the head.

2,3,4,5) All ignition components were replaced. Good news: Removed all factory parts. Bad news: I believe the where the original 1994 parts. (Plug wires were dated 1994)

I made sure the valve cover and surrounding areas were all clean and free of debris before removing the old wires. I also vacuumed the plug holes before removing the old spark plugs. Thank god I have the special spark plug tool. It's a long way down to the plug.

I did not get around to doing the engine flush but instead installed the new fan shroud. (Mysteriously missing when I got the car.) 110F+ temps coming soon to Southern Nevada. I removed the fan/clutch and was shocked on how grungy, caked with deposits, the clutch was. I separated the clutch from the fan and cleaned both in the solvent tank.

I also removed the battery and battery box to make installing the fan shroud easier so I cleaned that too. No battery hold down present... WTF?

image-132822913.webp

I was going to replace the throttle cable but the factory replacement I have is not the correct part. ;(

As the sun was setting, I replaced all three wiper blades and topped off the washer fluid.

MORE TO COME...

Another " 94 White "80. I just bought it. Newbie w/ expert on tap. ABS is out Suspect front speed sensor", sunroof sealed with clear silicon (drain issue not fixed?), removed after market alarm, A/C needs condenser?.

Will be adding front and rear bumpers, sliders, air lockers, "old man lift", winch.... The add ons will cost twice what I paid for the seed! :>)

THis site will be VERY helpful, I think.

Finally... Today I completed the engine flush and oil/filter change.

The springs are F'in huge! Here's a shot compared to a new Yokohama 165/60R12 tire. (Big tires for our classic mini)

I can't imagine what 6" lift springs look like.

New OEM parts: intake hose and clamps, throttle cable, fuel filter, battery hold down, battery box/cable grommets, oil fill seal. Getting there little by little.
