I'm in, let us know if it goes through!

I'm going to look at bringing these in. If they are selling for 250 online they have to be getting them for around 100. I'm in contact with the company so shall see. The main company is out of Taiwan but they manufacture all over the world, even in the US. Maybe I could do a group buy on these.

I've used pressure switches (for my air compressor setup) from airlift, but then I had a manifold already:

Gauges and Switches - Air Lift Company

cheers,
george.

The Puma is a standard configuration compressor setup. It needs a relay, head unloader, etc, like this:

Ah, sorry about that - I thought it might need just a pressure switch. My OBA used a Thomas compressor, separate tank, pressure switch, relay, blow off safety valve, one way valve etc.

cheers,
george.

Likely, but no specs to confirm?

Would be nice wouldn't it?:hillbilly:

I'll stop by KMS this week to see if it's written on the darn thing itself.

Ok, Missed the part where Tools said I would jumper the two sides together for 12VDC usage. I called KMS, after some confusion they read out the label on the box. The rating for 120V AC was 1.5HP at 120VAC

Is that enough?

I'm very happy with my Puma 12V. I got the 1 or 1.5 gallon model from Buzzard Gulch.

I used a 50 AMP in line fuse on 8 AWG cable (stranded copper) from a AA jumper cable set, snip one of the clamp ends off and used the HD butt splice other mudders have mentioned. Followed up with some adhesive shrink wrap.

Did a great job airing up from 20 or so psi after camping on the beach. In the future after I finish my rear platform build, I'll try to wire the unit directly and use a relay like others are doing.

Hoping to use it to undercoat my Hundy with fluid film and maybe do some light painting :).

Anyone mount a Puma 12V compressor in an FJ40?

Does anyone out there have any pictures of a Puma 12v or similar air compressor mounted in an FJ40? Specifically, under the hood or in the cab pictures. Thanks!

Update: the Rolair 125 PSI Pressure Switch [ROL-PS3535] is nearly exact to the one that comes on the PUMA. If anything, it feels slightly more heavy duty than the stock PUMA one. It has the same inlet/outlets and same size hose fittings, so it's a perfect match :)

I will be replacing my busted PUMA switch it this week, and will take some pictures of it fully mounted in my storage drawer system.

Good deal!

Has anyone ran the Puma twin tank 2 gallon? I want to separate the compressor from the tanks and build a custom box under my 3rd gen where the factory spare would fit. It seems like the two tanks would be a thinner profile and also it holds more air. Is there any problem running the compressor on its side?

Can someone post a link on how to separate the comp and tanks. Or is pretty self explanatory?

Pumping my own tires (chwatIdidthere?) but I finally remembered to time myself as I was airing back up today. All 4 tires, 315 75r16 from 25 to 50 psi in 16 minutes.
It had always felt longer than that I guess, but slightly easier now with using one of those clip on gauges and not having to bend over to keep a chuck pushed on.
Perhaps one day I'll get all fancy and use something like Glenns 4 in one system.

Nope, they are oil-less, so can be run in any orientation.

Should be an easy deal, but have never seen that type, so :meh:.

I blew up my Puma this weekend. Not sure what went wrong, only assume it got too hot. I'll tear it apart and hopefully repair it, or at least find what happened.

f*&k. :frown:

Any idea if there's a warranty on these units?
